Story
In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.

Her story is captivating, heart wrenching, beautiful and heavy. I found myself at the edge of tears for most of the book. As a white passing Hispanic woman, it allowed me a deeper unsugarcoated understanding and grasp of a black womans reality.

Reading other reviews of disappointment is really because they didn’t give it a chance passed the first chapter or two. I was captivated and moved to tears at moments. I had no idea what the book was about upon purchasing. If you’re a person that feels at times that you struggle being your true self and also a hopeless romantic, this is for you.

What a great surprise.

As a person that didn’t have strong opinions either way of Matt, I personally always felt the show never allowed us to see who we was, truly. I am so glad to have listened to his memoir. The insight and story of a bi-racial man was really something to absorb and learn from.
I was also overcome with tears during the chapter in which “Jaden” was spoken of.
I am all the better for reading this book and not because of getting to know this man but because of his message to the world.

Insightful and pleasantly revealing.

I have always thought Rachel to be fascinating for being unapologetically herself but her book reveals her humanness. As a woman, I found so much of her thoughts and trials relatable. As a hispanic woman that is white passing, I appreciated the insight on the struggles of black folks. I will miss hearing her on my ride to work and running errands! She is a great narrator to her book. Nothing but love for Big Rach!
