This book was absolutely wonderful! Is the first time I’ve ever read about a dance class with two women. And their story is complicated. Each one has the same ex-girlfriend. One of whom was cheated on by the other. Like I said very complicated. But they fall in love eventually. The narrator is awesome! She puts humor in sarcasm in her telling of the marvelous story.

OK, first of all there’s a female cop that works in Boston, which is totally awesome! I love, strong female characters. Slowly there is a subculture of vampires introduced to her. She falls under the spell of a female vampire, of course and is not just turned into a vampire. Which would’ve been cool. But she has bitten by this Alien Duerme, and it turned into a hybrid of a vampire and a Philippian with a fourth tongue and has all these psychic powers. I mean really? Can’t you just pick one thing to have her inflicted with. And then it turns out that the woman who she falls in love with Namely, the vampire ends up being someone that knew her when she was 16 and the store just gets more and more complicated. I can’t believe I’ve read it twice! And I still don’t understand the whole thing.

This story was lacking in story!
Reviewed: 11-12-24
The overall story was somewhat rushed. It introduced us to a 22-year-old woman who was delivering beer to a bar and meets a woman in a bookstore. When they start dating, she doesn’t know how to tell her parents and in the very next chapter, she says her parents, tell her that they approve of her new girlfriend and I’m like wow! When did she tell her? That’s just one example of not telling the reader everything. Is this book of abridged or unabridged? The narrators were awesome though. But the story was severely lacking incoherent, details. It just kept jumping forward willy-nilly example quite you too many to write down here in this review.

Pop star Leontyne Blake might sing about love, but she stopped believing in it a long time ago. What women want is her image, not the real her. When her father has a stroke, she flees the spotlight and returns to her tiny Missouri hometown. In her childhood home, she meets small-town nurse Holly Drummond, who isn't impressed by Leo's fame at all. That isn't the only thing that makes Holly different from other women. She's also asexual. For her, dating is a minefield of expectations that she has decided to avoid.

I love love stories! Not talking about sex stories! Two women fall in love, ho-hum! But I could actually feel it personally in my heart. The book had tons of humor and emotion. And I learned a lot about myself. I, like the character of Holly, is a asexual being. Thank you for sharing this awesome story.
