About this listen

Newly divorced and bought out of her company, Nathalie rents a holiday home in the South of France. After years of hard work and a failed marriage in Chicago, she’s looking for some peace and quiet, a place to clear her mind and figure out her future. Lena loves women, her dog, and landscaping, but that’s about as complicated as it gets. When she meets her new tenant for the summer, it proves hard to stay professional as a caretaker, especially when that tenant turns out to be everything she ever wanted and more. As time passes and boundaries blur, the moment of goodbye becomes inevitable. Nathalie isn’t looking for a new love, especially not in the form of a woman, and Lena has no desire to get her heart crushed again. Is it possible to find home in a place you’ve never been? And is it worth the risk, giving up everything for someone you’ve only just met? They say home is where the heart is....

Great Listen

This was a very sweet story. Loved the way Lise Gold brought hear characters together and didn’t make it easy on them. The narration was good but the accents were inconsistent I think but didn’t take away from the telling of the story.

French Summer

A recent divorcee rents a home in France for the summer and falls for the caretaker. That description alone was enough to draw me into this romance. A bit of a slow burn while the two ladies get to know each other, but it was a cute development. This was a very nice summer read.

Lisa Gold is Gold

I’ve only recently discovered Lise Gold, and I love her ability to developer a character and tell a story. Fantastic work once again. It wasn’t my favorite narrator but still good over all.

overall it was good

I enjoy this author. the stories I've listened to have been fun and romantic. I can only guess that my blasé response to this one had more to do with the narrator. it wasn't the worst I've heard but it definitely detracted from the "feels" of the story.

Summer Loving

Really enjoyed the flow of this story. Huge fan is Lise Gold and her Queer Romance novels. I like the connection the two main characters have right off the bat without rushing the whole storyline and plot. Fun quick read or listen and I’d give this story 🌶️🌶️🌶️ for the spice factor hehe.

Overall great book!

I enjoyed watching the characters finf each other. There were some truly hilarious moments, like why would you ever think to do such things, but they got thru them all with some grace. Good job to the author there. I had mixed feelings on the narrator tho. Her tone and pitch for one of the characters was too young, which detracted from the character. But overall, good book!
