Story
In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.

Viola gives a wonderful performance as a narrator and author. You can truly see the scenes in your mind as she describes them. Her upcoming blew me away! She tells us how she overcame the challenges that might have otherwise held her back - had she let it. Her perseverance is admirable. I very much enjoyed her story telling. I don’t know exactly what I expected when I chose to purchase her audio book, but I’m glad I did. She is a hero to many people (beginning with her family) and a shining example of bravery and commitment to succeed.
Thank you, Ms. Davis for sharing yourself with us. I’m so glad that you found, who you were looking for. Kudos!

Story
Growing up, Joanne suffered at the hands of a violent boyfriend and controlling relatives, as her mother lapsed into a downward spiral following the break-up of her marriage. But the consequences of her mother's lifestyle turned out to be worse than Joanne could ever have imagined. She already knew about the baby buried in a shallow makeshift grave next to the family plot. But when Joanne came across a red plastic bin in her mother's wardrobe in 2009, she realised that the family home held an even more sinister secret.

The Narrator Makes the Story!!!

What a crazy life, this main character has lived! From her earliest memories, until the end of the book, is one mess after another!
I felt that the first two chapters were a little slow going, a bit boring, however, later on, in chapters to come, I was glad that I’d listened to those first two over again, and twice more, because those chapters allow insight, as to certain characters, whom remain throughout the story. I really enjoyed listening to this story, each night (took me about 4 nights of listening- not counting the nights that I fell asleep on the first two chapters, haha), and the narrator just makes it worth listening to! She has just the right amount of expression, and believable “voices,” for other main characters. I would recommend, listening to this selection.
