Story
For all his twenty-one years, Zephyr has been a cultivator of the Carefree Path and a martial artist. He always assumed he would take the vows and become a monk, but his plans are thrown to the wind when he receives a letter from the Grand Sage to attend the Schools of Elemental Magic. Gifted with the system known as the Codex of Ascension, Zephyr intends to master the various elements in record-breaking time. Alongside two other students who bear mysteriously similar origins, his school year promises to be more than he could have ever imagined.

I'm about 25% of the way through and wow is it bad.
The voice acting feels like a caricature of humans.
The writing feels like it was someone's first book and the characters are all boring and unremarkable.
The plot devices are all heavy handed and predictable, and it's full of all the worst tropes: he Chosen Ones are all overpower and constantly doing impossible thing, Legendary loots are dropping like candy and it feels like there is no agency in the characters.
I'll stick it out till the end, but it's really hard to connect with or care about the characters in any way. there is zero suspense, everything is utterly predictable and boring, so much so that I find myself zoning out.
I can see this being really enjoyable for a child or tween that is really into fantasy as a springboard to better books, but beyond that, it's pretty meh.

Not bad, not great.

Performance was awfully wooden, almost a caricature.
Story was interesting, but writing was nothing spectacular: unpolished prose, unrealistic scenarios, and lackluster combat descriptions.
Most of this sounds like a parody of a teenage fanfic: "I'm so Uber and powerful that Im quite literally a god and I'm too stupid to have the most basic insight of human nature"
sooooo much exposition, I felt this or I thought that.
