unbearably painful
Reviewed: 03-10-25
It's frustrating to hear how dumb Raven is. how she always caters to her spoiled sister's demands, how Ares is too blind to see Hannah's true color and his own feelings. everyone literally just allowing Hannah to take advantage of Raven and others. it's exhausting and irritating... gosh.

Story
Did I want to get married today? It's hard to say when he proposed in front of more than a hundred people. Everything happened so fast, and I thought it was just nerves. It was not. The knock on the door showed me that what I was feeling was more than just cold feet. I was a runaway bride.

Clarabella needs to learn how to communicate
Reviewed: 08-04-24
This story could have been only 2 hours long, but seems like the author has the tendency to create characters that don’t understand how to communicate properly. All the late overthinking, the unnecessary drama could have been avoided if people know how to actually communicate even simple misunderstanding when being in relationship. I suppose it also works in real life.

Like:
At first I thought this is going to be one of those corny, boring story that was adapted from greek mythology. As I listened more, I get more intrigued by the story and dynamic between the mortal and the divines.
Performance was great too. She narrated with such emotion and put the story to life.
Dislike:
Persephone character is so unstable and immature. Granted, that is because she was being controlled by her mother so much, but it’s so annoying to see grown woman reacted so harshly without thinking long term.
Performance was great, but the audio was so low that I had to put it on high because I can barely hear her during normal voice. It’s almost like she’s whispering!
All in all, this is such a page turner and it won’t stop me from reading/listening next in the series! Love this.

Story
This Psych 312 assignment just might send me off the deep end. Determining whether love at first sight really exists with Robbie Moravian as my project partner of all people? He’s the sappiest man alive, so upbeat I could scream, and clearly rooting for happy endings at every turn. How does he not learn from experience considering our own meet-cute last semester almost got us expelled? But we both need to pass this course to graduate. So we’re interviewing five random couples about their meet-cutes and relationships and spending all this time together. Which is certainly...educational.

Dr. George K. Simon knows how people push your buttons: your children---especially teens---are experts at it, as is your mate. A coworker may quietly undermine your efforts while professing to be helpful, or your boss may prey on your weaknesses. Manipulative people have two goals: to win and to look good doing it.

This book is a masterpiece. It is simple, easy to understand, relatable (due to the examples provided) and you can really relate it to real life because you must have came across types of manipulators in this book. I applaud George K. Simon, Jr. PhD. for his brilliant thoughts, even years after this book was written.

Story
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

I thought this was just one of the overrated best seller when I started listening. It started slow and full of annoying party girls that seem like they never left high school. But once the story starts, it intrigues me more and more every chapter. Plot twist and drama were sprinkled perfectly that make you can’t get enough of it. Can’t wait to finish the second book.

Interesting and unusual story, but confusing timeline.
Reviewed: 11-26-23
I love the fact that this book is about a woman entrepreneur. She’s talented and know what she wanted even when she’s just a teenager. Unfortunately, the way it’s written is too confusing for me because it kept on jumping to the future, the past, and the current until I can no longer keep track of the characters and what’s going on in that timeline.

I applaud the author for being so creative in prolonging the series and milking her readers without having to create a new story plot. Same story, different POV. I've been cruising through the series but so far this one has been the hardest to finish. boring, predictable, same old. I have a few hours left and I am looking forward to the day when I actually finish this. Not to mention the narrator is just so hard to understand. I don't even know why he gets picked again in this series.
