Although the topic was very interesting, the book was a difficult listen. The writing was sophomoric and clunky. The narrator was ok, but changing voices for various quotes was not a good choice. At times the narration was overly dramatic or very dry.

Only Leah could narrate this book, her delivery makes you feel like you are just having a discussion with her. The story of Scientology as a cult written by one who experienced it and survived is fascinating. Leah's experience is even more unique as she was part of the celebrity inner circle, and as she says, not everyone in Scientology will have had the experience she did.
Loved the content and narration.

What disappointed you about Saving Fish from Drowning?

I could not even finish listening to the book, the narrator was so awful.

Would you be willing to try another book from Amy Tan? Why or why not?

I would, as long as she has someone else narrate.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Her voice, inflection and intonation were annoying.......I could not focus on the words

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I am sure the story is good, I have enjoyed reading her other books.

Any additional comments?

I might try this book on Kindle........

This is basic business primer for those who contemplate this level of business. Innovation, creativity and tenacity are all outlined. Magic Johnson has made the transition from a Basketball Player who does business to an astute businessman who happens to have played basketball. If you want to do business with Magic's team then you had best get all your ducks in a row, have a sound business position, know how you are going to present it and convince him it is your passion. This clever approach offers a glimpse into his private life as well as how he cleverly markets for success.
