Story
Agreeing to accompany her father's people back to their homeworld, Kira Forrest prepares for the fight of her life. She's agreed to undertake the Trial of the Broken, a rite of passage every member of her father's House must pass. It offers a path to independence and freedom that is too tempting to deny. Not everyone welcomes this lost daughter of Roake. There are those who fear what her presence might bring to light. Betrayal stalks the halls of Kira's birthplace-its roots embedded deep in the events that claimed her parent's lives and set her on her current path.

Has become one of my favourite series. The narrator does an excellent job with consistent and varied character voices. Also consistent from book to book in the series so when listened in sequence it is smooth. The story really comes alive with the performance. It’s a bit of a cliffhanger but not frustratingly so. Book 1 of 5 (more coming). A sci-fi with fantasy elements and slow burn romance. Loved it and have re listened.

This is probably one of my favorite series to date book or audio. And this book 3 doesn't disappoint. The interactions and banter, the action and further story reveals keep you hooked. The narrator is consistent from book to book with character voices and her performance enhances the book. Honestly it's a go to when I need a re listen book.

Paksenarrion was one of the first female warriors in a fantasy novel I ever read that was not a big-breasted floozy in scantily clad armor. I read these many years ago and the series remains one of my favorite rereads every year so I decided to try the audio. The narrator does the story justice and it was easy to follow different characters in the story. It is militaristic without glorifying war, it is gritty without having to resort to gore and sex.
A sheep farmer's daughter refuses to wed the pig farmer her father has promised her to without asking. Instead, she runs away to join a mercenary company. The first book focuses on her learning to be a soldier, The second on her first adventures (not all kind) that she encounters as she leaves the company and ventures out into the world. Any more than that would be spoilers. I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys fantasy novels including fans of David Weber who want to switch genres.

This is a progression of characters and setting, a well thought take on the realities of what would actually happen as a result of a zombie plague. Wonderfully narrated by RC. I suggest readers/listeners try out the first 5 books before plunging in here - it is worth the time.

Story
In the spring of 1903, the 311, known to locals as “The Majestic”, carried more than 100 passengers on board toward a tunnel mouth that would allow the 13-car locomotive to pass safely through the underbelly of the Canadian Rockies. The tunnel swallowed the 311 whole, and the train - and everyone on it - were never seen again.

I love Keith C. Blackmore's unabashedly Canadian settings and characters. His take on the Haunted Train trope is fun and original and would make for a wonderful 10-12 episode series (Amazon Prime Video - take note!). And RC Bray delivers a great performance too.

Story
Fetching a cat out of a tree should’ve been a quick, easy 50 bucks in Kanika’s pocket. Instead, following one stray thought, the devil pays her a visit and leaves her with a debt to repay. Owing the devil a favor is bad enough, but her life is turned upside down when it’s time to pay the piper. First, she doesn’t want the world’s sexiest firefighting, kitten-rescuing Scot as an unwilling companion. Since that wasn’t bad enough, she doesn’t know who wants him dead or why....

I have not read the written book, but after listening to the engaging performance by the narrator i will forever read future books in this series her voices. it was funny, engaging, sarcastic and witty. Definitely a romantic comedy that will make you want to listen straight through to the end and stay awake till you do. Delightful. Will definitely now search out more by both the author and narrator who were new to me.

They came after the Diseray. Some were terrors ripped from our collective imaginations, remnants of every mythology across the world. And some were like nothing anyone had ever dreamed up, even in their worst nightmares. Now, the luckiest Cits live in enclosed communities, behind walls that keep them safe from the hideous monsters fighting to break through.

I have been a fan of Mercedes Lackey for years. This new series has the freshness of her Arrows of the Queen way back when but more maturity though it is still a coming of age series. intriguing World Build, believable characters and a great performance that really brought the characters alive. Suitable for young adults but does have some mature philosophical themes. A solid story that holds up through the next 2 books. Not a cliff hanged but each book does continue the sub plots and I recommend reading or listening in order for the best enjoyment. it is in my re read and re listen rotation.

Great new start to a new series in the same world but far away as dragon kin. Not a cliffhanger but definitely a vol one in a series as the main plot continues. reads like a fantasy series in that respect but thoroughly enjoyed it. Narrator performance was enjoyable, with good pacing and character voices. In my re listen rotation.
