Story
Valdez Jones VIII calls himself Wrecker because his great-great-great-great-great-grandfather salvaged shipwrecks for a living. So is it destiny, irony, or just bad luck when Wrecker comes across a speedboat that has run hard aground on a sand flat? The men in the boat don't want Wrecker to call for help—in fact, they'll pay him to forget he ever saw them. Wrecker would be happy to forget, but he keeps seeing these men all over Key West—at the marina, even in the cemetery. And now they want more than his silence—they want a lookout.

Too much vaccine chatter. Annoying.
Reviewed: 01-10-25
After 10 references to people not getting vaccinated and being dumb, and no laughs at all, I quit this one. You were wrong about the vax. Too bad you went on record. Silly to make your fans put up with that crap.

I’m a western fanatic. I don’t care to watch or read or listen to anything else. I’m so glad I found Perley Gates and this series.

Story
Evan had a hit single, but that was 10 years ago. Thirty-one now, hes drifting, playing in a local band and teaching middle-aged men to coax music from an electric guitar. Now, 14 years later, he experiences unplanned parenthood when he undertakes to raise the resentful teenage son hes never known. Off beat and disarming, How Evan Broke His Head and Other Secrets portrays a contemporary American family with unfailing honesty.

Why can’t liberals keep it out of their book

It got super annoying as he went, getting less and less disciplined about his lefty opinions on things. He masquerades as a conservative minded guy, but in the end, lost me. Actually, in chapter 3.

Funny but too seething with hateful politics
Reviewed: 09-16-21
Like the late night comedians and SNL writers, Carl lost his humor when he just started making fun of Trump. Imagine if ever other “joke” was how Biden was a differing senile of coot. After a while, the “trump is a fat slob” jokes got old and lazy. Didn’t finish it because it got too lazy.
