Story
Captain Jack Hale and his crew of ragtag scavengers live by a code. They do the job, get paid, and keep their heads down. Salvaging a distant section of the asteroid belt seemed like the perfect job. But when he and his crew stumble across a mining camp filled with dead bodies, their plans for a quick payday quickly go out the airlock. Especially when they find a scared little girl who knows the truth about the massacre.

The ending or the beginning??

Had a tough time listening to this at first, the characters were annoying. Then I realized they were less annoying and just more human! Me not liking them helped me love the book! I ended up, begrudgingly, very interested in what would happen to them. Great job Rhett and Jaime lol
Ray Porter was awesome as usual
Now where is the second book!!!!

I don't know what the humans are so cranky about. Their enclosures are large, they ingest over 1,000 calories per day, and they're allowed to mate. Plus, they have me: an Autonomous Servile Unit, housed in a mobile/bipedal chassis. I do my job well: keep the humans healthy and happy.
