Great Balance of Action and Political Intrigue

What I like most about Bobby’s writings is that his plots aren’t merely believable but he also includes realism. Not everyone makes it out of a difficult situation unscathed in the real world and he includes that attribute. He creates the heroes I want to see.

Rollicking Adventure Continues
Reviewed: 11-03-24
The interplay among the characters, including their human flaws, is fantastic. The “standing up for what is right” plays for me, too; I’m not naive but I do know what I find honorable and I appreciate authors with the courage to bring such themes to the forefront despite the current political-correctness climate. And, of course, there is “Sir Charles”…what an awesome character!

A deftly crafted dystopian science fiction action/adventure novel by an author with a genuine flair for originality and a compelling, entertaining, and narrative-driven approach to storytelling, "Of Courage and Sacrifice" by Matt Hartle is especially and unreservedly recommended for community library Science Fiction & Fantasy collections. Good story, Horrible narration

I stuck with it, despite the atonal, nearly lifeless narration, because I liked the characters and the storyline. If AI tech is going to be used to read stories more often, it needs to improve DRAMATICALLY!

The characters were real in my mind. The lead character, Thatcher, reminded me of the two submarine commanders (of the many I served under) I most respected and for whom I’d have sacrificed myself to protect.
