It was pretty good slow burn, but worth it and the ending the amount of giggles I had.

Persephone is the Goddess of Spring by title only. The truth is, since she was a little girl, flowers have shriveled at her touch. Hades, God of the Dead, has built a gambling empire in the mortal world and his favorite bets are rumored to be impossible. How annoying Persephone was
Reviewed: 02-07-24
Persephone was very entitled, not the smartest and very whiny.
Hades didn’t have much of a personality.
There was no chemistry and a whole lot of nothing happened in the book. Just Persephone not listening and needing help.

Story
Once again, David Sedaris brings together a collection of essays so uproariously funny and profoundly moving that his legions of fans will fall for him all over again. He tests the limits of love when Hugh lances a boil from his backside, and pushes the boundaries of laziness when, finding the water shut off in his house in Normandy, he looks to the water in a vase of fresh cut flowers to fill the coffee machine.

Think I've found a new author to follow.

David Sedaris' stories are crisp and concise. His performance is executed with such honesty and eloquence that one cannot help but to be drawn in as a child at the feet of a grandfather telling tales by firelight.

Considered to the be one of most influential American authors, Howard Philip Lovecraft is synonymous with some of the best fantasy and horror fiction of the 20th century, second only to Edgar Allan Poe. A great introductory

Shadow over Innsmouth is, hands down, my favorite Lovecraft story. If anyone is new to Lovecraftian lore then I strongly suggest they begin here for the full effect of what they can expect from this author.
