Story
Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor. More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost. But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore.

Missing logic and/or point
Reviewed: 10-20-24
Whole book original Bobs behave like nothing would happen.
Big part of the book they are acknowledging a war is coming, but later act surprised when they are told they were going to be attacked.
Making Bobs very stupid.
Ending is making whole story pointless, it is like author was trying
Needed two attempts to finish this book, Bobs are, too dumb in this one, all revelations at the end of the book are obvious in, at least, middle of the book

Different ganre now
Reviewed: 09-22-24
Series started as adventure, turned into adventure with a bit of romance
This book is a romance novel with some parts of adventure now
There are several couples now and most of the book is about relationships.
Author is introducing more characters, as the result there is less time for each and some old characters are forgotten.
As someone said in their review, ending is ridiculous, it exists only so author would turn story different way.
There is no logic to it.
I can see why there are way less reviews for this book

Lucky it was free
1. A lot of youth romance
2. A lot of parent-children conflicts
3. Last boss battle is against of everything happening before in this series, main character should not be able to do this
Give this series one more try, it is getting worse with each book

Early teen fantasy

Usual problem with current authors
Main characters are 30-40 years old, but behavior is from yearly teens
As the result it is hard to care about characters, because they are too stupid and annoying
All problems for main characters are coming from they stupidity, instead of fixing an easy problem, they are waiting for it to grow, so they would overcome it heroically
Ending battle is horrible, they could not win before and now, they just casually win
Plus each next enemy getting their device is very lazy

More than half of this book finished.
So far:
1. A lot of water, skipping a lot of this book without missing much
2. Big build up to meeting an army and nothing at the end. He could stay home and get the same result. The same about priestess
3. In first books it was pointing out nobilities should be ready for an assassination attempt, main character behave like "Ups, I did it again". Left weapons behind, walked into obvious trap. Constantly.

Too much of usual stuff
Reviewed: 10-16-23
Only reason vice president is in these books, just provide a love interest for main character
To make her useful author make Jack and everyone around stupid, so she would be able to point it out
I would say around 30% of this book is relationship related
As usual Jack is allowing people trying to make problems for everyone do whatever they want, because he is so "good"
This is leading to problems later
Basically main character is a flat caricature of a knight in shining armor
Will give another book a chance

Main character is portrayed as one of the best swordsman and a veteran of 10 years, but each time there is a fighting he is almost killed and saved by his companions.
In addition this "veteran", each time there are some problems , is "frozen by panic" or relaxing in the middle of the fight
Basically he is useless and dragged from place to place by his companions
Looks like he is very dumb, it takes long time for him to realize obvious things, but mostly someone needs to explain it to him
Several point of the story happened only, so team would pick up some items they will need soon,

A bit too much whining and crying
Reviewed: 11-24-22
Last hour - hour and a half filled with crying and whining, nothing else
There are a lot of thin through whole book.
Authors were trying hard to make some drama, the result is rolling eyes.
As usual red shirts are appointed from the start
Main characters are finding useful staff just in time, always
Not sure why did not they found some storage with "magical weapons"
