Publisher's summary

Read by award-winning narrator Jeff Harding.

**NOW A MAJOR PRIME TV SERIES STARRING ALAN RITCHSON**

There's trouble in the deadly wilds of Nebraska . . . and Reacher walks right into it. He falls foul of the Duncans, a local clan that has terrified an entire country into submission.

But it's the unsolved case of a missing eight-year-old girl that Reacher can't let go.

Reacher - bruised and battered - should have just kept going. But for Reacher, that was impossible.

What, in this fearful county, would be worth dying for?

Although the Jack Reacher novels can be read in any order, Worth Dying For follows on directly from the end of 61 Hours.

'If anyone can put down Worth Dying For after the first few pages, then they shouldn't really be reading thrillers at all' Independent

‘Jeff Harding’s [...] narration captures Reacher’s character perfectly [...] you have to savour every minute.’ The Sunday Times

Another good Reacher

I keep thinking that perhaps it is enough - but enjoyed the book, characters and reading so much I look to the next..

Enthralling

I found this book Lee Childs' best so far. Jeff does the voices so well. Kept me listening for hours.
Jack Reacher is my hero, although a little violent at times it thrilled the 'young boy' within my mind.

Reacher restoring small town America (again).

What did you love best about Worth Dying For?

What is not to love about Jack Reacher? In the vein of our comic need for a super hero, Jack Reacher kicks all the tochas that needs kicking, somehow managing to lay to rest the cruelty of another modern day injustice. Scant regard for judice prudence and a strong regard for street justice, country bumpkin villains are sorely sorted. The obligatory, slightly confused, lass under strain, is the love interest. The underlying issues is worthy of a moral pulpit. The destruction of baddies epic. The Cathartic purge and fiction of simple and uncomplicated comeuppance mesmerising. So, what is not to love about Jack Reacher? What is not to love about Lee Child, after all he hails from Coventry!

What did you like best about this story?

Jack Reacher is simple, Sherlock your way to the heart of a wrong, beat, kill or punish the perpetrator, tryst the local beauty and hitchhike into the sunset. In this novel, inbred hillbillies get their but kicked. What more could one want?

What about Jeff Harding’s performance did you like?

Mr Harding is brilliant, dulcet drawling American accent adds to this non-American the perfect tone for Jack.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yup.

Page turning stuff !

Great character, brutal but sometimes touching.
Good old fashioned good guy versus lots of bad guys.

It is OK

Only two issues with this book
1. Bad guys wanting to kill Reacher in bad cliche "With freaking laser on a freaking shark head", as result loosing
2. Reacher a caught with "his pants down" a lot in very obvious situations
Less skipping, than usual

50/50

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. Too boring.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Nothing, the narration was fine

Do you think Worth Dying For needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Hell no

Any additional comments?

It's an okay story but it really drags through the middle. Not as good as other Lee Child books I have read.

Not Worth Dying For

What would have made Worth Dying For better?

A plausible plot and some realistic characters might improve this novel.

Has Worth Dying For turned you off from other books in this genre?

It has certainly turned me off books by Lee Child.

How could the performance have been better?

This would be hard with a plot and characters like those found in this book.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Worth Dying For?

All of the book.
