Story
It’s only for one night—well, a weekend, actually. Becca Taylor needs a fake fiancé to take to her parents’ anniversary party. All Will has to do is shake hands, smile on cue, and act as if they’re totally in love. No problem. They get there, they’re holding hands in the hotel lobby, and then BAM. Something heavy plows into Will’s back, and suddenly he’s flying, only to be greeted by the most gorgeous guy he’s ever seen.

It’s just not even remotely believable
Reviewed: 08-29-24
I like this author’s past works. But this book is so forced, not in anyway believable. This trope is always alittle gimmicky but this is so so far from passable. Could not finish.

I am a big fan of the author and this series as a whole. But this book felt very forced to me, not tied directly to the main story, felt like a forced side quest to just get another book in the series to add to a publishers bottom line. Disappointing, I will read the next but if it much the same, I will likely not read the subsequent book.

Story
Dragons Riders: The last noble warriors in the realm. Only heroes can embolden the ordinary. For centuries, millennia, the Dragon Riders galvanized generation after generation, adding Riders to their ranks and birthing dragons from their eggs. But there are no more heroes. War with the Andarens is like nothing the Riders, nor the armies of Erador, have ever faced. In the place of heroes, there are only soldiers now. Fodder for the machine of war. This time of twilight is set to be the crowning hour of the dark when the light is losing its grip.

Let me start with saying, I am a huge fan of the Echoes Saga & the Ranger Trilogy. I really like the world created.
With that small preface, this book is just okay. The story is a lot of the same of what we have already read. Very similar character personalities and story tropes. This book just did not go anywhere and it felt very much like a prologue that got stretched needlessly into an entire book.
Now, if you are a fan of this world and the previous books, I will recommend reading this one. I enjoyed some of call back to obscure or minor pieces from the original Saga(example: the Dwarf leads, and the story of how they become so much more in the Echoes Saga). And I am a sucker for dragons, even if we really did not get any interactions in this book.
My hope is that this book is a jumping off point to really have a fantastic book 2 of this series. It will need to be for me to keep moving forward. Here is to hoping book 2 is released in a timely fashion.

I hate Valentine Tye. I’ve hated him since we were ten years old. I hate everything he is, everything he stands for. Even the mention of his name gets my back up. And when I see him? My blood boils. My jaw clenches and my hands curl into fists. That’s how much I hate him. I want to cause him pain. I want to hold him down and actually hurt him. And if that’s not bad enough, that’s exactly what he wants me to do to him.

It’s the middle of the night when part-time police consultant and full-time empath Reece gets an anonymous call warning him that his detective sister needs his help. At an out-of-the-way Seattle marina, he discovers that three people have been butchered—including the author of the country’s strictest anti-empathy bill, which is just days from being passed into law. Soon, Reece’s caller arrives: a shadowy government agent known as The Dead Man, who is rumored to deal exclusively in cases involving empathy.

The story itself isn’t great. But there is no romance in this story. The protagonist’s interest is flat of emotions the whole story and there is no connection. Regret the purchase.

This novel is ok, I do not regret the purchase but I won’t listen again. It has flashes and moments that are good; But too far and in-between. slow burn that really didn’t get too deep.
I don’t love the narrator, just like the story it was just ok.

I’ve been the NFL’s “problem child” since my rookie year. If there’s trouble, I’ll find it. But my biggest weakness has always been Houston McRae. We were secretly together in college before it blew up in our faces. So when I see him again years later, you’d think I’d know better than to end up in an airport bathroom stall tearing his clothes off.

Nice story but not very deep
Reviewed: 05-22-23
I am a huge Neve Wilder fan, she writes incredibly hot scenes and characters that just have chemistry off the chart. This story covers both those essentials but it’s just too short to get very deep or build out on some of the key sub plots and past emotions that are driving the MC’s in this novel. But it is still a good read.
Russo does a very nice job and is a top shelf narrator.
Easy 7.5/10

At 12, he was my best friend. At 16, he became my crush. And now, at 34, he’s the man I’m still pining after. Falling in love with Easton was never part of the plan. But now that I’ve done it, I can’t seem to stop. It doesn’t help that we’re living under the same roof. Or that Easton is so dang sweet I want to lick him from head to toe.

A really nice first novel by Emmy Sanders. A great story of true love and a happy ending. This book will pull at your emotions and isn’t the lightest read/listen but well worth it. And a great start to a series. Blake Lockheart only amplified the story. A solid recommend and 4 Stars.

In Boyfriend Material, Luc and Oliver met, pretended to fall in love, fell in love for real, dealt with heartbreak and disappointment and family and friends...and somehow figured out a way to make it work. Now it seems like everyone around them is getting married, and Luc's feeling the social pressure to propose. But it'll take more than four weddings, a funeral, and a bowl full of special curry to get these two from "I don't know what I'm doing" to "I do". Good thing Oliver is such perfect Husband Material.

A Major Disappointment
Reviewed: 05-17-23
The first book in this series was fantastic and I own in it multiple formats. This was a huge disappointment, no plot or story. I enjoy Alexis Hall but this was a big miss, There is no character growth, the same theme and conflict throughout. I tried to like this book, as I like the characters very much, but it took me 6months and multiple tries to finish it.
Joe Jameson is fantastic. He is one of the best in the business and it’s a shame he was wasted on this title.
