I really liked this story. For me it was original. The characters were super interesting. It touched on some aspects I didn’t expect, which was wonderful. The narrators voice was so unique and the highlights to the internal and sometimes external monologue or conversations were perfectly done. Not overdone, as that can be distracting. I recommend this book for anyone but in particular for people looking for a break from isekai. It just felt right, like a well deserved vacation!

Story
Sasha Pierce hasn’t had a single dream since she was a child...until she accepts a substitute teaching position in the charmingly witchy village of Old Middleton. Her first dream in twenty-five years ought to be enchanting, but her wonder quickly turns to shock when she realizes that it’s not a dream at all, but an entirely different sort of magic. Catapulted through an ancient portal into the fairytale kingdom of Between, Sasha’s astonishment is swiftly upgraded to panic when she accidentally performs a supposedly impossible feat and is declared the True Queen of Between.

Story
The deathly silence is about to be broken. She disliked the company of others and death did little to warm her spirit. She had led an independent life and she faced death in much the same way. She was finally alone, finally free from the mindless babble of others, at least that's what she thought. May Elizabeth Trump was the rarest of spirits and she was none too happy about it either. She was a dead medium, a ghost who can speak with the living, and her services were to become in great demand.

Persephone May has been alone her entire life. Abandoned as an infant and dragged through the foster care system, she wants nothing more than to belong somewhere. To someone. However, Persephone is as strange as she is lonely. Unexplainable things happen when she’s around - changes in weather, inanimate objects taking flight - and those who seek to bring her into their family quickly cast her out. To cope, she never gets attached, never makes friends. And she certainly never dates.

It kind of physical hurts the ears, but the story seemed good. Your standard Victorian era main character. Rife with weak inner dialogue for doing…anything. I had to know, so I keep going in short bursts. Good luck!!

Story
This is the story about how I died. Not really.... I mean, I don't remember most of it, thank goodness. Long story short, I was betrayed. Some people I thought I could trust invaded my sky palace, stole my women, and enslaved my pet shadow hounds. I was destroyed, utterly. Or so they thought. Somehow, mana, the source of my previous power, brought me back. The backstabbing weasels think they are safe, barricaded in their strongholds. Here's the horrible part. They willingly sacrificed their own flesh and blood for security. And they had the nerve to call me evil?

Had I stopped and paid more attention to who the author of this book was, I would have saved my credit. Misogynistic dribble. This guy obviously writes to fulfill his own fantasies. I’m guessing it’s also the fantasy scenario for many others as well, otherwise none of his books would sell!

Story
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

I can’t tell you what a relief it is that people still write thoughtfully and intentionally.
The narrator has the most perfect tone to compliment the story.
I completely enjoyed this fiction piece, lost myself in it, listened almost non-stop.
