Story
After the Renegade mission by the crew of the starship Flying Dutchman, the UN Expeditionary Force thought Earth was safe for hundreds of years, at least. After there was trouble on the home front and the president had to authorize a nuclear strike on an American city, UNEF decided they did need the Merry Band of Pirates again. So, the Flying Dutchman is sent out on a simple recon mission. But for the pirates, nothing is ever simple, and their mission will become Armageddon.

Awesome

I'm still loving this series. Craig Alanson is doing an excellent job with his story writing. Although there is a general pattern as to how events unfold for the pirates (it can't really be avoided and still keep the excitement up), I'm still stoked and looking forward to ever minute of the book.
As for R.C. Bray.....he's killing it as always. what else can a guy say. I couldn't see this series narrated by anyone else.
Craig keep the awesome writing rolling. It'd be cool to hear at least a short from the point of view of one of the other characters, some one whos looking in on the rediculous antics of Joe and Skippy.
I can't wait to hear more!

The ship’s weary crew wonders what they will do with their lives in peacetime, but the enemy has other plans, and there is danger on the Homefront. Starring Zachary Quinto, R.C. Bray, Kate Mulgrew, Robert Picardo, and everyone's favorite AI, Skippy the Magnificent, alongside a full cast. Includes plenty of pew-pew-pew, original sound composition, and maybe some singing by R.C. Bray.

Still loving the story line. the Audio Drama was ok, I always find it a challenge to listen to when narrators change, or in this case a whole bunch are added, it was still neat once you got into it though . Whens the next book coming out? Stop making us wait!

Story
The battle-scarred star carrier Flying Dutchman is finally on her way back to Earth, after an exceptionally successful series of missions that have once again saved the world. The ship needs a serious refit, and her exhausted crew just wants a break from constant clandestine warfare against a vicious and superior enemy. Wishes come true, right? Not for the Merry Band of Pirates.

excellent writing, excellent reading. You'd think after 7 books in a series it'd get repetitive, and there is some repeat in the plot structure for sure, but it never gets old or tiresome The story line is creative and keeps you wondering what's coming, worried about what will happen, and laughing out loud (A little strange when you're driving hours alone with nothing but the windshield for company). Craig Alanson, keep up the great writing and keep avoiding cleaning the garage. R.C. Bray, I never get tired of listening to your narrations.

Couldn't listen to it
Reviewed: 02-06-17
unfortunately the narrator was completely off base with this book. I've listened to the first 3 books in the Ring World series, excellent books. It is very important though, especially 4 books in, the pronunciation of specific words remain the same. Also even though every narrator speaks slightly differently, it's important that general voices/accents remain the same. The Narrator of Ring Worlds Children did none of this...listening to this book after the first 3 it feels like Barrett Whitener is making everything up from scratch. A little research into the previous 3 books would have been prudent. Consistency would have made for a much more enjoyable experience for the listener.
Unfortunately I was not able to listen to this book so I am unable to rate the story itself, although I'm sure it would have been great like the previous 3.
