the characters are completely unlikable. Shallow and narcissistic. I'm 6 chapters in and if they died suddenly it would probably improve the story.

Story
On winter solstice, the birds disappeared, and the mist arrived. The inhabitants of Nebulah quickly learn not to venture out after dark. But it is hard to stay indoors: Cabin fever sets in, and the mist can be beguiling too. Eventually only six remain. Like the rest of the townspeople, Pete has nowhere else to go. After he rescues a stranded psychic from a terrible fate, he’s given a warning: He will be dead by solstice unless he leaves town - soon.

Story
When detective Maggie Oliver first discovered that children as young as 10 were being groomed, abused and trafficked for sex by gangs of men in the Rochdale area, she felt like a lonely voice calling for people to act. Banging on closed doors, it seemed that nobody was able or willing to help her save these vulnerable girls, but she couldn't just sit back while countless lives were being destroyed forever in plain sight. Instead, she launched a one-woman campaign to bring down these sickening gangs.

I'm not sure if it's the narrator or the writer but this is so hard to listen to. The writer is so self congratulatory you'd think she'd never made an error in her life. It's all about her personal life.

I usually steer clear of anything by or about celebrities, but this book feels both honest and fun. Cassandra is a lot like her Elvira character. Quirky, lovable, tuff and vulnerable. In other words human. She comes across as someone you'd like to hang out with. I'm glad I listened to it

Story
The Road Home lies in the shadows of Manifest Destiny and Wounded Knee; it is etched into the landscape of an old man’s memory and into the stubborn dreams of a young man’s heart. In one of Jim Harrison’s greatest works, five members of the Northridge family narrate the tangled epic of their history on the expanses of the Nebraska plains. They strive to understand their fates, to reconcile with demons of the past, to live in accordance with the land, and to die with grace.

The protagonist in the first part is great. I want to know more about him. The writer should have stopped the book entirely or continued developing that character. Part 2 picks up with his grandson. I just can't stand the guy. I've listened to several hours and still wish he'd just shut up. Finally giving up.

I found this hard to finish. The actors are alright but the story in rather convoluted. I kept expecting the protagonist to be in care and actually be speaking to her therapist. She definitely should be. The ending feels like they ran out of time. I'm glad this was a free one.

A new compilation of Bram Stoker’s cult vampire novels for the 100th anniversary of his death. This delightful new compilation of Bram Stoker's cult classics will be sure to satisfy any lover of vampire fiction, from Dracula to Twilight. All three novels were published after Dracula debuted in 1897. They flirt with vampirism, horror, and human folly in the best Gothic tradition - all attempts to duplicate Stoker's only success.
