I thought the series was good. Like most of these kind of stories it was a bit far fetched.

Story
The world outside has grown toxic, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. The remnants of humanity live underground in a single silo. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they want: They are allowed to go outside.

This had me hanging on every word. The story is unbelievable but true. The only down side for me
Is the addition of music and background audio. Yeah, it wasn’t sooo bad but I’d prefer not.
I’ll most likely listen to this again. I’ll also recommend it to other audible listeners.

The story might have been okay The reader was just awful. I had to return the whole boxed set because I couldn’t listen to him any longer. I think I got through about 3 chapters. I know not everyone can be a Scott Brick or George Guidell but this was terrible.

America is in the thrall of a full-scale socioeconomic breakdown. The stock market plummets, hyperinflation destroys the value of the dollar, and the population, unprepared for hardship, panics. Practically overnight, the high technology infrastructure and chains of supply collapse and wholesale rioting and looting grip every city. Law enforcement, transportation, electricity, fuel, and medical supplies are all in the past now, as the country staggers beneath its own weight.

Good story for the most part

The story was good. It portrayed the possibilities of the collapse of society in a financial calamity.
The narrator was one of the worst I’ve listened to. He started out terrible and only got very slightly better as the book went on. The book did give some accurate and useful information for prepping, self defense and tactics.
