I loved this series and hope there are more to come. The level of romance (and sex) were perfect and did not interfere with the flow of the story. I will definitely follow this writer and his stories. 🙂

The way stories in the series weave the paranormal with love, romance and rich cultural heritage speaks to my heart. The narrator's voice really pulls me in and makes me feel as if the story is about me. I hope the author continues this series.

Story
In this classic work, Professor George G. M. James methodically shows how the Greeks first borrowed and then stole the knowledge from the Priests of the African (Egyptian) Mystery System. He shows how the most popular philosophers including Thales, Anaximander, Plato and Socrates were all treated as men bringing a foreign teaching to Greece. A teaching so foreign that they were persecuted for what they taught.

More suited for actual reading
Reviewed: 10-30-20
There was some important information within the book, but it was hard to connect his main points because of all the "i.e."s, the "a" "b" "c", etc. You could easily forget what he's referring to or trying to prove; it was really long winded. The narrator's voice was very annoying. I stopped listening several times due to this. With that said, I plan to purchase the actual book and read it.

I love, love, Love this series! I go back to the first book and start all over again every time a new audible book is released. R.C. Bray's performance puts me right in the middle of the action; so much so I feel like I'm one of the pirates. He definitely received a 10 star rating from me for his performance.
I also like the introduction of new characters within the story and the combining of the Pirates and Mavericks. My only disappointment is that Joe and Margaret still didn't get together this book. I can hardly wait for the next exciting adventure, group of characters, and R.C. Bray's performance.
Keep those books coming!

Story
Susan Michaels was once the hottest reporter on the Beltway Beat until a major scandal ruined her life and left her writing stories about alien babies and Elvis sightings. Life as she once knew it is over, or so she thinks, but then she gets a lead on a story that could salvage her extinct career. She heads to the local animal shelter, expecting a hot news tip, which she gets in the form of a major police cover-up...for a ring of soul-sucking vampires out to take over Seattle. So much for saving her credibility.
