Hello fellow reader,

I give realistic reviews. And I try to be as fair as I possibly can, without underrating or overrating a title. just in case you are reading this and you are gonna take it seriously. I've read over 3000 books in my lifetime. And I would have to say, I'm at least a novice when it comes to understanding plot lines, cliffhangers and character progression, Etc.

I do enjoy books that have a main character that is multifaceted. They're not just like one punch man where they have 1 talent, and it's basically just a trope of different stories. It's throughout the book to make him seem more interesting. Matt's character starts off very strong in book one and I really did enjoy the progression of his character from book 1 to book 2. But unfortunately someone got to the writer and made him go more politically. Correct? And started involving a lot more of the woke ideology when it comes to female centric writing. there's nothing wrong with a red Sonia character. but one thing that bothers me about a lot of these books that are being written right now, and it's everything from Monster Hunter to The 1st Defier abs that's this absolute obsession with the masculine female character that doesn't have any feminine traits or the thin fatale that has been abused for me, raped or some other horrible thing done to her, that makes her character into what it is. i'm so tired of reading the same story right over and over and over again.

not only does the writer keep introducing these type of characters, but he also starts to remove the main character from the storyline and makes the book more about the side characters that it does the main character. i mean, yeah, specifically in the last 2 books, I would say, probably 30% of the book has been inner monolog of characters that have absolutely nothing to do with the storyline characters that nobody cares about. And oh, guess what? They're female characters that have been abused And they hate the world and everyone's a bad guy, and oh yeah, guess what? They're all so gay.

when you add that to the fact that he slightly starts putting into the storyline, that characters have female led herons, where they have multiple husbands and that men are gay, but also have wives and women are gay, but also have husbands. It just starts to kind of run together. i know this is gonna sound crazy. But when I'm reading a book, I only care about the characters that are involved in the storyline. I don't give a rat's ass about the emperor's nephew's. Cousin's best friend and who she's banging. That doesn't matter to me and no one else cares either. because if you're reading a book to try to discover the sexuality of the characters in the book, then you probably should read more along the lines of right porn writing.

something else to think about is whenever someone reads a story about a love interest for the main character. If it's a man, then that character should be feminine. Half of this book is about how the female character that the m c falls in love with is trying to be just as strong as he is.Because that's the only way that they could possibly be in love...

It makes you want to throw up in your mouth. there's never been a single man in history ever that has existed. That said to himself, you know what I hope when I marry my woman find the love of My Life She can fight just as good as I can right? Because there's no possible way I could ever be with her, if that's the case.... slow clap.

There are no feminine women. Every woman in the storyline has some form of either masculine tendencies, or they don't act in a feminine manner. there's not a single female character that has a likable personality. They're either incredibly argumentative, or they simply look down on all of the male characters or see them. Selves, as the superior being. ironically enough, a mass majority of the men in the storyline are all gentlemen, and regardless of how well they treat the women, all of the women treat them with complete disrespect.

Raping men is perfectly fine, the men in this storybook, basically all succumbed At a certain point to a female role in the character, regardless of their role in the story.

Something that is equally as huge a sin that a writer can do, is they've created This character that is amazing with an absolutely wonderful personality growth and type and his powers as developing as they are. For some reason, the writer finds a way to make sure villains that should have no way of being able to oppose him because of his training and the rules that The writer implemented that made the character so powerful, are now worthless because he meets villains that have known of the training that he does and have none of the capabilities that he does, but they're able to actually fight him on the same ground. an example would be as if superman met a villain in metropolis that had absolutely no metahuman superpowers, but for some reason that the writer just lazily threw in there is capable of stomping him into the ground and destroying everything that he's built...

There's no real continuity. Something happened between books 3 and 4 that changed the writer and the way the writer wanted to follow the storyline book 1 and 2. We're amazing as annoying as the female characters were in those 2 books you could put up with it because the men would put them in their place. And correct them and show them the folly of their actions. but now between 3 and 5, it's like woke political correctness. Feministic ideology is introduced in book 3. The main character is forced to be raped while being watched by 3 men... but that's okay, right, because rape doesn't happen to men, it only happens to women.

This storyline, and this character had massive potential, and it's turned into a feminist wet dream.

For those that read the first book and are about to read this one. If you do read this review, understand that he completely sells out the main character to the typical woke PC Independent strong woman crap.

In the first book, there were some subtext and a little bit of the female domination, but it was kind of light-hearted and he didn't really dive into it. But he goes total balls to the wall. And by chapter 8, the MC is literally about to die because he faces off against a woman that is vastly superior to him in every single way. Then, by the grace of God, the woman that he loves that he can't be with that is apparently mad at him, because her family is the one that slaughtered his family and she doesn't understand because she has a vagina. (Obviously and the world revolves only around her and her emotions and feelings and has nothing to do with his wants and/or needs or desires.) Stands in abs saves him by degrading him and making him look like a weak bitch beta male...

Seriously. I don't understand how you guys call these male centric novels A. Majority of the characters in the book are almost always female, (about a 7 Out of 10 ratio.) And it doesn't really seem like you guys focus on the men that much, which is incredibly disappointing.

So be warned, unlike the first book. This one is basically him just getting his butt. Kicked all over the place and having to kneel down and bow before women. Because he's a man, and how dare he try to veer out of his lane...

We deserve better than this Kathleen Kennedy Bullshit.

So throughout the first four books in this franchise, the writer definitely has some kind of love hate relationship with his main characte.

On a majority of the occasions of any interaction he has his main character insulted beaten tortured, made fun of 4 things that are beyond his control. Mainly having to do with the fact that he's not from this world. And no one seems to want to teach him the rules. Or the way things go, especially his profession.

Then completely randomly with no prompting and no history of homosexuality in his past whatsoever, he makes the. MC bisexual....or Gay or whatever. At this point, I'm not even reading the books. Anymore because it's entertaining. I promised myself that no matter what I would finish the series. Because apparently this guy is the father of lit. Rpg...

Well dad you really don't understand character progression. It's not necessarily woke. Although the more you get in to the story, the more female centric the story does become. The women take no responsibility for their actions. Whatsoever, when they do make a mistake and of course, it has the typical anime Style of they basically wander around and yell at everything and everyone. All that they say is so wise, and so pure, and the men are just stupid idiots that have to do exactly what they say.

We deserve better than this

Dear Mr. Kong,

I know the chances of you reading your reviews is probably 0.01%. But I figured I would at least attempt and a way to reach you. I just started reading book 4 of your series. And that's why I felt it proper to leave the review here. And just to be a 100% real. I have already purchased the fifth book in this series as well. But for the first time the entire history of me reading this genre, I don't believe i'm going to continue reading your books even though I own the next one. I started reading LITRPG books about 3 years ago I didn't know that you were the father of Litrpg in fiction nor do I care.

In your last book (which I'm calling it your ADHD book) You opened it with a promising introduction, saying that we were finally after 2 books going to do what every rational person in an rpg does. (That has base building) Which is build up their defenses and secure the ability for them to defend where they live. But no...

Instead, you make us sit through an entire chapter of his dick getting cut off by a psycho woman with a dull butter knife. (Thanks for that btw) Then, for the rest of the book we're literally watching him run away. That's not a joke. That's literally what he does the rest of the book. He runs from everything. From the very beginning of this story, you've never really given him a break. He basically had his ass kicked. He killed him several times you had him embarrassed, naked made fun of and pretty much just abused him at every chance you get. Now I understand what some of your fans are going to say. It's going to sound something like this.

"they were higher level enemies"

But that doesn't really count, does it? The 13 level Stone giant, which, by the way, was one of the more stupid things you did in the story. Because stone giants are nothing like that at all. But needless to say, you had him get his asskicked again and run away from him for a hundred miles. He never once equipped any of the gear that he got from the assassin, which would have severely helped his character and his class. And he doesn't use the materials. The equipment that you give him in order for him to survive and make his life easier. Basically, either due to your laziness or forget. Fulness of what you've written in your own books to help this character progress...

We now view him as a joke.

Then you almost have him raped by a tentacle, monster... Which thank you for that again? By the way, I don't know how to thank you for wasting 2 chapters now going on 3 chapters of us...Watching him do absolutely nothing. Good job... We're 7 chapters in the book. Almost 3 and a 1/2 hours, and he hasn't completed a single quest. Congratulations you played yourself. I don't think the book's gonna get any better. And I don't think that you're capable of writing him or making him mature as a character, but I do understand for being the first of its kind for the reason why so many people gave you so many good reviews.

Unlike a good 80s action flick. People won't look back on your work and say. Oh my god, it really holds up. Defiance makes you look like a 15 year old virgin trying to stick it in the right hole. You broke the number one rule in any fantasy or rpg store. NEVER let the readers see the MC as a joke. It's one thing to laugh have good humor see the characters tease each other. That's actually encouraged, but to flat out literally take his manhood. And then basically have him groped, molested and almost raped. You're turning him into a bitch in his own story. You can't even give him the calm and courtesy of being able to win his own battles. You do realize that I would guess three out of four, the fights that he's in, whether it's a group fight or it's a fight with just him and his familiar that he can't be an opponent on his own!? Seriously. Since about halfway through the first book, you won't even let this guy be able to fight someone without him. Having help from someone else it's impossible, he can't do it.

He's supposed to be this absolutely epic badass... Crazy monster of a character that you're giving him all of this magical power too. Training constantly with a sword and learning how to use his bow and create all these magical items... And he can't even take out 8 cobalds by himself....bro... did you ever play D&D?

Okay. There's a lot more that I could say about this book and to be Frank. I just don't want to. It's a very touchy subject with me whenever writer is abusing their characters for no reason. We deserved a hero... and you gave us a walking victim. 👍🏻

This book is not for men. It's for women that have a fantasy of taking control of a very strong and very deadly man, like some perverted version of a soft porn anime. Be prepared to be disappointed from the very beginning. Although the character does have decent depth, it doesn't matter because the writer has bossbsbe and independent strong women, blah blah, blah feminism blah blah blah. I tell you what to do blah, blah, blah. How dare you even though you just risked your life to save me blah, blah blah.

A majority of the reviews that are on Amazon are fake. I don't know who they are. Or why they give them 5 stars, but anyone reading this book that has a set of nuts and an Italian sausage between their legs? It's gonna throw up in their mouth the moment they read. The first encounter with the first female character introduced. ....

It gets better. He's literally bound by some blood oath that he didn't take that someone before him took that He has to follow suit because he's in that person's body... yes I know it's freaking stupid... but here we are...

this one is for the writer, go fuck yourself and grow some balls. Why don't wrote a book were The MC is an free willed individual and not a groveling idiot.

Dear Author and Readers,

I completely understand with the lack of available options we've had in the past 10 plus years. By this I mean: Hollywood, comics and video games with the Woke/PC culture. So, as with any degrading Supply and Demand of any item; our ability to produce or consume the normal high grade product will, of course lesson over time. I'll do my best abs attempt to give you an honest and unbiased review without being too verbose.

Even though this is the first installment of what is probably going to be between 6 and 12 books? I have to say it's a very difficult book to both follow and understand. This is not because of it's intricacies or its ability to entertain us. It's simply because the author doesn't seem to understand what he wants to do with both the MC or the story itself.

From the beginning of the story, we are led to believe that this young man for the past 2 years, despite all odds has managed to max out his credit cards go into massive amounts of debt to prepare for an Apocalypse that he has received a quest to prepare for. This of course is prior to the system, implementing itself upon the current population of earth.

Spoilers ahead

Well sorry, guys, but this means absolutely nothing. Because even though he was told by whatever deity has decided to choose him as his champion, everything he has bought or that he has prepared for is completely destroyed. Because it deemed "Unfairly Advantageous" The moment the countdown comes to an end. This is despite the fact that he did successfully complete the quest that he was given and receives a reward for doing so.

Of course he has absolutely no idea what's going on, no preparation whatsoever. He then must decide with points that he doesn't even understand the purpose of, to spend on skills and unique abilities that he doesn't comprehend how to use.

After a very long and drawn out inner monolog of explaining things that would seem obvious to any person that has ever played an RPG "Ever" in existence to do to survive or to have the best chance of survival of an unknown factor... Doesn't choose them instead he chooses 2 completely random abilities that "Just so happen" to successfully help the plot proceed.

I'm trying to keep this short but suffice to say he continues to do this as a matter of fact, he doesn't even willingly increase his stats until about chapter 15. He literally was going on blind luck. Those of us that have read many books like this. Understand that this is plot armor that the writer has done to help his character proceed forward. Because he doesn't want to give the character enough depth in order for us to understand what it is he really has going on.

This is completely disregarding the fact that we are introduced to (of course) something that is incredibly annoying in a lot of these stories in this genre. Yes, I'm sure you guessed by now...It's the inevitable girl boss. She's smarter, stronger, faster and of course, she knows every single thing about the entire system there is to know including what he is and how to do everything that he does not know how to do...I just threw up in my mouth a little.

The story in itself has a really cool kind of twist on an apocalyptic type scenario. It's like he pulled aspects from several different books and created a smorgas-board which I actually did enjoy. But I'm on chapter 25 right now. And the main character granted. He is rather young, but he does have. Military experience still is acting as if he doesn't really know who he is. Or what it is that he has to do in order to survive. I'm going to finish the book and I probably will purchase the next book just to see if he changes it at all. But I wouldn't recommend this book to people that like the genre.

Dear readers and author,

I'm not exactly sure what happened here, but something I noticed here ( and the previous book ) that I was afraid the author was going to continue. You've basically turned Derek from this absolutely amazing character that has a multi-layered personality to this... Jack wagon of an MC.

I know this isn't a harem book, but this guy hasn't been laid since the first novel. He has no love interest whatsoever, so you've basically closed him off from that aspect. I don't agree with that. I think you should have at least giving him a girlfriend. You don't have to be, you know... Sexual With that content, all you have to do is give him the recognition that he deserves and the fact that he can date or have a relationship.

A majority of the people in the Kingdom that are not in his circle of friends, and you can even include Alana in this, they don't give him any credit for what he's done. And as a matter of fact, they start using him as a glorified taxi by the end of the book. He turned arguably the weakest kingdom pretty much single handedly into the strongest kingdom and handed control of the entire region to the current royalty that is in that kingdom. This isn't hyperbolic This is a fact. They owe everything to Derek, and yet he's kind of just treated as like a vassal. Or "Hey man, we want you to go do this? Hey, man, come do this with us." type character. He doesn't really have freedom of movement as a character because of how you've written him into a corner. He doesn't want to be any type of royalty. He doesn't want to have any type of leadership role or any type of ranking within the kingdom. So, you've basically turned the main character of your story into a voluntary slave of the kingdom.

I dealt with it in the last book. Because I was hoping and praying that you would pull your head out of your ass. And make something of this book like you did in the previous novels... But alas, you didn't, you just made it worse. And now with the level capping And on top of that, there were certain things that you put in the book. They could make him more powerful and give him extra stats that you've completely ignored now for 3 books.

I'm very disappointed because this was one of my favorite series in the genre. And I really wanted to see you do so much better with this character and with the storyline. To bad...

Ok, so to be totally blunt this is a great story and great characters but wtf over!?

The authors did the exact she thing that almost everyone does in these stupid stories... we have a great MC and he's a Billy Bad Ass but then of course.. enter in strong female bossbabe to beat him and control him and then make him weak. So he becomes a fucking simp and a Sub...

There's a lot of good things about this book series. The sex scenes are better than any other in the genre. The MC is prick and isn't very smart but he protects his women and he didn't change the entire series... until just over half way through the 3rd book. You turn him into a coward/simp little bitch boy.

Plus, this isn't a progressive lit rpg, they never even mention the level system or strength system AT ALL of the first 1/4 of the first book. So he's the same level with no progression at all. Both of you should be ashamed of what you did to Frost. He deserved better.

Dear Reader and author,

The first book is actually not too bad, the characters have some depth not a lot mind you but enough. I like how he only goes through the sex scenes 100% on the first time with his women. that way there's a lot of story. The MC isn't stupid, he's not an abuser and he knows what he wants. Definitely not a soy boy. At this point you're wondering why I'm reading it so low...

It's very simple, A.V. did what a lot these writers do in these series. He built up this really cool Alpha Male that isn't a dick and actually has personality (he even takes care of his sick mother!) and then emediately in the second book takes away his ability to fight the bad guy without a miracle female lead that comes in abs saves the day... sigh...

Well bud I've read several of your stores now and I so say you have talent but you just don't understand how men think. We don't want our fantasy novels to be all about women saving us... we want to save them. Just remember how horrible the Marvel and DC shows are... when you take away the main characters purpose then you might as well just change the book. You literally called him Apex... and he needs another person to save the world? wtf

And of course, ivy want a big enough bitch so you brought in another one that "acts like a man" bossbabe that the MC has to bow down before to get her to help them... You really killed this man.
