Story
A world where dreams turn to reality and shadows hold untold secrets…I never used to remember my dreams—until I crossed paths with a vengeance-seeking vampire who cannot grasp the concept of 'personal space'. Don’t believe the lies; They don't require an invitation. As the youngest private investigator in the city of Phoenix, I assumed I'd seen it all. That was before I learned about the creatures lurking below the surface of human society. It could be contagious, because since discovering vampires exist, I can't stop dreaming of things I shouldn't have knowledge of.

It was mediocre. The narration was fine. The story was forgettable. I do regret spending a credit for it. I love when a story grabs me and I can not wait to listen at every free moment. RED NIGHT was not that story for me and I love vampires stories.

Nice story, great narration. Worth the credit. I just wish Charles and Anna’s relationship was not so perfect. I need a little bit of angst once in a while.

Story
Men like us, we see things. We do things, things that make us unfeeling. That's the price of power and money, of living la belle vie and running the French mafia. Then she came along like a pretty wildflower pushing through the cracks on a dirty pavement - fragile yet resilient, a breath of beauty among the filth.

I spent a credit for this book. It had some great scenes. I don't have any regrets spending a credit for the audiobook. I liked the plot and characters, but then by 80%, I got bored. The heroine became too perfect. The story should have ended at 80%. The last 20% dragged. There was nothing. No drama, no suspense, it just became blah. I am not sure I will read the other books in the series unless they go on sale or go on Amazon Romance Package.

The narrator - 1/2 star.
The narrator sounded mechanical. Tia Sorensen sounds as if she is just trying to rush through the story. There are multiple POVs in this book. Her ‘voice’ does not does not change for Seth, Emily, or the stalker. I am not sure if the narrator only took the job to pay her rent that month. It feels as if she hates narrating and is doing it to only to pay some bills. Does someone from the publishing world owe this narrator a favor, because she is awful!! It is a shame that the company hired Tia Sorensen to narrate this story. One of the worst narrators I have ever listened too. She ruined the story. The author should note this for the future!! (less)

I read the prequel to this story and loved it. However, the narrator killed EDGE OF SIGHT for me. I am not sure if the author is friends with the narrator or Violet Grey has a special relationship with the publisher because I do understand why she narrators more of Roxanne St. Clarie's books. The narrator's voice is just blah. Good luck!!!

There is no romance in book 1
Reviewed: 02-26-19
I love paranormal romances. I love tension even if there is no sex, no kissing, etc. in the first book. However, I have to feel something. I love silent, broody heroes, but I have to feel that they caret a little. I like them to be a little protective It does not have to be a lot, but just a little. I got nothing from this book. There was no sexual tension and there not an once of care from the hero towards the heroine. He just had to protect his metal detector, which was the heroine. I don't get the cover of this book. That cover is a lie.
I did not drink the Kool-Aid when I listened to this book. Everyone loves this one. UGH. I want my credit back!!
There is absolutely no romance in this book. I have read other PNR where there is no romance in the first book or second, but something about the MCs drew me in. I had to keep reading. I am felt nothing here. The hero does not really like the heroine. He keeps her around because he needs her to get the object. She is his metal detector. He only feels protective of her so she doesn't die before he finds the object. I read reviews for book 2 and there is nothing there either. I feel I am missing something with all the 4-5 star reviews.
I liked the heroine. I usually don't care for heroines who talk about their clothes, nails, and hair, but this heroine did not annoy me. I found her sweet and funny. I just felt no connection and really could care less about anything that these characters encountered.
I know I am in the minority here. I used an Audible credit for this one and have regrets. A credit is not cheap.
This book is listed #4 in Best Paranormal Romance Series. There was NO romance in book 1. I am told there is not a hint of romance until book 3 or 4. The MCs don't even flirt with each other in book 1.
People are complaining about the narrator, but I think she did a good job. A solid B!

Note to Author: I am enjoyed the story, but the narrator sounded like AMAZON Kindle's "Text-to-Speech". She sounded robotic. There WAS NO emotion. I know I am not the only one that has commented on the narrator. I am not sure if the publisher or you choose the narrators, but I would recommend using a different narrator next time. I would recommend reading the story and not listening to it.

The story was great, but I could not continue because the narration was so bad.
It would have been better to stick with one narrator. The male narrator sounded creepy.
Then the narration sounded like it was done in someone’s basement.
Note to publisher: Redo the entire book with one professional narrator!!!
