Publisher's summary

A world where dreams turn to reality and shadows hold untold secrets…I never used to remember my dreams—until I crossed paths with a vengeance-seeking vampire who cannot grasp the concept of 'personal space'. Don’t believe the lies; They don't require an invitation.

As the youngest private investigator in the city of Phoenix, I assumed I'd seen it all. That was before I learned about the creatures lurking below the surface of human society. It could be contagious, because since discovering vampires exist, I can't stop dreaming of things I shouldn't have knowledge of.

Without intending to, I've become a supernatural magnet for TROUBLE, learning way too much about the others. Trust me—you don't want to know.

If meeting an annoyingly beautiful vampire and lifelike dreams weren't enough to lose my mind, I've won the lottery of the unlucky by landing on the top of a supernatural killer's to-do list. Did I mention it’s been a rough week?

My barely there dating life was already hanging by a thread, I'm failing Paranormal 101, and I can't figure out who the good guys are—if there are any. Nobody is who they seem.

I'm in over my head and wondering if an ordinary human can survive this game played by beautiful monsters—without becoming one.

In this pulse-pounding tale of Paranormal Romantic Suspense and Urban Fantasy, Samantha must navigate treacherous and seductive waters if she wants to survive and save those she loves. Will she recognize love from deception, trust from betrayal, before it's too late?

Loved Red Night!

Wow, I’m very glad I gave this book a try. Red Night was a wonderful combination of romance, suspense and humor. The story moved at a good pace and characters were very likable. Within a few page I was quickly immersed in the world Mrs. Close created and before I knew the book was over.
Natalie Naudus did an excellent job narrating the story. Her performance is well paced and her voices are easily distinguishable between characters. I would definitely listen to more books narrated by Natalie Naudus.
I can’t wait to start Red Moon, the second book of this series.

Great Read

Red Night by R.K. Close is the first book in the Vampire Files Trilogy. It was a great read. Samantha is a detective and meets the equally sexy and mysterious Adam. She suddenly learns that not only are vampires real, but many things aren't as they seem. I loved reading Samantha's story and can't wait to read more in this series.

Great story!!

What a fun read!

In today’s world, there are more vampires than there are stories to tell about vampires. Thus, it is increasingly difficult to find fresh and unique reads. R.K. Close has done a wonderful job of giving us just that.

Samantha is funny and intense and, yet, she isn’t hard and closed off like so many other female characters are presented. She’s strong and her strength is apparent through the whole book.

This was a pleasure to read and the narrator was very good. I look forward to more!

Intriguing

A fascinating story that was definitely worth the time to listen. This was helped by the narrator. The characters and the plot were perfect.

It was ok!

I got this on one of Audibles sales. It is part of a series. I’m not sure whether or not I’ll go on with the series. I’m not particularly fond of female only narration. The narrator was ok. Nothing special. Four Stars on this one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic!!

First I want to say that the story was well developed with great characters. Samantha was a fun character who was strong and funny at times and I loved her attitude. Adam was also a fantastic character who had great chemistry with Sam. Secondary characters were also well developed and I loved Gabriel. The story itself has some mystery, lots of action some humor and some steamy scenes all with a paranormal theme with vampires. I loved it!! Next O have to say that this narrator was outstanding! Natalie brought this book to life and was a pleasure to listen to. I would highly recommend this book.
