Story
It was four o'clock in the morning. A young woman pushed through the hospital doors. Staff would later say they thought the woman was a new mother, returning to her child - and in a way, she was. She walked into the nursery, where a baby girl lay sleeping. The infant didn't wake when the woman placed her gently in the shopping bag she had brought with her. There is CCTV footage of what happened next, and most Australians would have seen it, either on the internet or the news.

Story
Tamar is a musician, a warrior, a survivor. Fayard? He’s a pioneer, a hustler, a hopeless romantic. Together, Tamar and Fayard have lived a thousand lives, seen the world build itself up from nothing only to tear itself down again in civil war. They’ve even watched humanity take to the stars. But in each life one thing remains the same: their love and their fight to be together. One love story after another. Their only concern is they never get to see how their story ends. Until now.

Slow but Good

I love the Narrators. Janice's voice makes the book come alive. The story was good in the beginning but dropped off in the middle . Took too long to make the connections. seemed like a bit too much useless information. But it picked up and was worth wading through. Overall I really enjoyed this book.

cute but predictable

it was a cute story but it wasn't very original. from the first paragraph you could tell what had happened the night before and what was going to happen. even with the brother being angry.
i like the narration. two different voices instead of one person used for everyone.

story line was ok to read but the narrator was very distracting and annoying with unnecessary and irregular pauses in sentences between words and inflection on the wrong word creating a odd tone to the paragraph.

Story
In the little city of Flint, Michigan, the good die young, and the people left standing are the grimiest of characters. With reign over the city's drug trade, Benjamin Atkins made sure that his precious daughter, Raven, was secluded from the grit that the city had to offer. But when Raven's young heart gets claimed by Mizan, a stick-up kid in search of a come-up, there's nothing Benjamin can do about losing her to the streets.

No Consistency

Nicole Smalls was awesome as the narrator , that being said she could only work with what she had.The story was so inconsistent back-and-forth things didn't make sense and did not go along with the earlier parts of the book. I'm still trying to figure out how Morgan was born deaf In Ethic and is hearing now. Make it make sense. Make it make sense!

Story
The hardest thing Morgan Atkins has ever done is let go of love. After losing Messiah, she never thought she’d find someone who understood her again. Until she reunited with Ahmeek Harris and their friendship quickly transformed into something deeper, but there was one problem...she was engaged to a man she didn’t love and he’s holding a deadly secret over her head. If that wasn’t enough, her long-lost love Messiah returned to claim her as his own.

Nonsense
Reviewed: 10-16-21
Mybe it's just me but the storyline didn't make sense. The hypocrisy and illogical way the characters behaved. Their reactions to situations went against how their chacters true nature would react. and even though I know it's nonfiction it still should make sense. the way Bash is treating Morgan and she's accepting it...nonsense. You don't love a man but you devoluge your fathers worst secrets...nope. Why Bash chose her in the first place.. nope. he's roral and she's hood and pregnant with another man's babies...nonsense. Then Arie behaving so stupid over Issa after putting him on ice for 2yrs. nonsense. If I wasn't so invested in the series I would stop reading. Love Nicole Smalls narration.

so funny but...

I loved Amber ! Very up beat and funny. She did an amazing job narrating. The only problem is that I, being a black woman, felt these stories in my soul and became frustrated and angry when justice was not served. The story about their parents day care got me and the child being hidden from the mother and police called upset me so. It was hard to find the humor in their ignorance. But I did like the book overall and would definately recommend it to others.

Belisarius is a quantum man, an engineered Homo quantus who fled the powerful insight of dangerously addictive quantum senses. He found a precarious balance as a con man, but when a client offers him untold wealth to move a squadron of warships across an enemy wormhole, he must embrace his birthright to even try. In fact, the job is so big that he'll need a crew built from all the new sub-branches of humanity. If he succeeds, he might trigger an interstellar war, but success might also point the way to the next step of Homo quantus evolution.
