About this listen

In this romantic-comedy novella, the sexiest player in the NFL and a small-town librarian prove that when opposites attract, their chemistry can be game changing.

Simone Thompson wakes up in a Vegas hotel suite to discover three things:

  • Her headache might kill her.
  • The guy spooned behind her isn't some random Vegas hookup...it's James Sumner, the NFL's bad-boy wide-receiver and her twin brother's teammate.
  • There's a ring on her finger - you know...the finger.

As part of a football family, Simone knows all about the game, the good, the bad and the ugly. That's why she joined her brother's trip to Vegas in the first place - to keep an eye on him, not to end up entangled with her crush. Her very out-of-her-league crush.

James has always had the hots for Simone, and now that they're married, he sees an opening to prove to her he's more than just a playboy and that they really do belong together. But if he's really going to win over his bookish princess, he'll need to execute the perfect play....

What listeners say about The Perfect Play

Highly rated for:

The Perfect Play Is A Short, Sweet Romantic Tale About An Accidental Marriage Between An Nfl Player And A Small-town Librarian. While The Storyline Is Engaging And The Love Story Is Cute, Many Readers Felt That The Characters Lacked Depth And Development Due To The Rushed Pace And Brevity Of The Novella. The Predictable Plot And Abrupt Ending Left Some Wanting More Substance And A More Fleshed-out Narrative. However, The Well-written, Light-hearted Story Provided An Enjoyable Read For Those Seeking A Quick Romantic Escape.

Cute

I enjoyed this little novella. It was completely predictable but just what I needed on sleepless night. I would have enjoyed it more but for the male narration The female narrator was authentically awesome but the male was just wrong he sounds like the narrator from Dragnet. Straight laced, stiff, lacking vocal inflections and just not sexy at all.

More please!

Loved the diverse characters ethnicity and life experiences. More of a deeper dive on that would have been great. Hope there is a sequel.

Quick, easy, loveable

I loved this novella! I listened to all of it in one sitting. I wish it was longer, that's how much I loved it. I loved their relationship and the way their two personalities collided. I wish I could have learned more about his personality through his own eyes though. I felt like his entire personality consisted of what she and her twin thought of him. Overall, great book!

Excellent story line that in different chapters lacked going the extra steps to blend.

Great short listen

I originally downloaded this book to listen to while I fall asleep. Surprise; I couldn't stop listening. Both narrators were a joy to listen to. I'm not normally into more than 1 narrator, so this surprised me.

Whimsical

I truly enjoyed this short romantic comedy. The narrators were so great together it was visual, like watching a movie. Will look for more of the author's writings.
