Telling a story from "current" point of view to past is difficult for the reader to follow.

Both stories separated by time are so slowly told I didn't care what led to the ending. The characters were one dimensional so I had no connection to any of them.

Freeman's novel reflects life in the 1970s and early 1980s. Sexual harassment, queer assault, spousal abuse - all written in story with "nothing we can do about it" law enforcement attitude. Hairstyles. music, clothing as associated by character detracted rather than benefited the story. I kept with the novel hoping it would get better but should have passed on this one.

I can't qualify this book as true horror, as we've lived through the pandemic into 2021 and the fears and ignorance of those seeking a cure are too real.

I like the concept that some are born immune and offer hope which is a two-sided blade. One side offering a cure and the other self sacrifice for the good of the world. I'd like to have read more about the connections between which species lived and which died.

On the whole this was a well written book and worth the credit.

The stories are poorly written. The narrator stumbles on words and the recording could have been done with a retail recorder.

Stephen King presents a fascinating story believable and heartbreaking. An audio page turner I listened to in one day. 5 stars all around.

I'm a huge Joe Hill fan. In my 3rd read of this novel, I'm finding more details I'd missed (or forgot) in the times between.

Great story with unpredictable turns, realistic characters and outstanding plot. Well worth the credit.

Kate Mulgrew captures the young voices magnificently and does justice to every major and minor character.

Premise presented was intriguing. Mystery child, former foster child, missing adult, in a tale set in normal suburbia.

Characters were one-dimensional. Sweet and happy child, young woman overcoming all odds, evil mother, complacent father, young- at- heart retiree sleuth, conflicted does- right -in -the- end teenager.

Narrator did a good job though. Great characterization.

The first book in the series was excellent and suprising. The 2nd seemed more a segue between the first and 3rd, lighter on the plot side.

I recommend reading them in order, as they definitely are not stand alone and you do need the backstory and sequence of events in order to enjoy the full novel.

Excellent narrator too!

Werewolves have their hierarchy with set rules with enforcers to punish misbehavior among their worldwide pack. One offender must be dealt with immediately.

Blackmore presents a page-turning werewolf tale set in current times. While the werewolves seek justice the unthinkable occurs. DOGS do what??? No spoiler here but well worth the credit.

I'm definitely waiting for 2nd in the series.

I'd rate this less than 1. I struggled through stories with the usual subjects: murder, zombies, monsters, content found in normal horror topics.

I listened to the most annoying, flat, monotone delivery from a barely awake narrator.

Until half-way through when the main character acted upon feelings towards his birth child daughter, I stopped. Nope. No way. Returning this one. I feel complete revulsion.
