Story
Two lonely towns in Colorado: Hope and Despair. Between them, 12 miles of empty road. Jack Reacher never turns back. It's not in his nature. All he wants is a cup of coffee. What he gets is big trouble. So in Lee Child’s electrifying new novel, Reacher - a man with no fear, no illusions, and nothing to lose - goes to war against a town that not only wants him gone, it wants him dead. It wasn’t the welcome Reacher expected. He was just passing through, minding his own business. But within minutes of his arrival a deputy is in the hospital and Reacher is back in Hope.

Done with Reacher
Reviewed: 10-03-18
This is the book that made me disgusted with the person of Jack Reacher. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he is nothing but an overgrown teenager. he thinks he's so profound but he's a superior douche. pretending to care for a comatose soldier while banging his wife on the next page. I'm done with his America hating, bleeding heart, petulant SOB.

Dick Hill didn't ruin this one!!!!!
Reviewed: 09-07-18
normally, Dick Hill's overacting is a huge distraction to the story. His character voices are usually annoying as they come. especially when he voices female characters. plus, he is to Jack Reacher's voice what Tom Cruise is to his body.... not even close.
there was a couple of moments where I was afraid he was going to get into his overacting but he reigned himself in just in time.
if Dick Hill reads every book like he read this one, they would be a lot more enjoyable

Story
Jack Reacher was alone, the way he liked it, soaking up the hot, electric New York City night, watching a man cross the street to a parked Mercedes and drive it away. The car contained one million dollars in ransom money because Edward Lane, the man who paid it, would do anything to get his family back.

after listening to the last book i thought maybe Dick Hill turned a corner. I was wrong.
His dramatization of a women that is sad or in distress is really bad.
Also, his is not the voice for Jack, unless Jack is supposed to sound like a 70 year old in chronic pain. i hope for a different narrator in future books

normally this narrator is a disaster. but i was pleasantly surprised that he didn't make me shut my phone off before throwing it this time.
He still isn't the right voice for Jack Reacher, but his performance was much more tolerable

Story
Thumbing across the scorched West Texas desert, loner Jack Reacher has nowhere to go and all the time in the world to get there. Cruising the same stretch of two-lane blacktop is pretty Carmen Greer. But for Reacher, the lift comes with a hitch. Carmen's got a story to tell, and it's a wild one. All about her husband, her family secrets, and a hometown that's pure Gothic. She's also got a plan. Jack Reacher's part of it. And before the sun sets, this ride could cost them both their lives.
