Story
Narrator Dan Stevens ( Downton Abbey) presents an uncanny performance of Mary Shelley's timeless gothic novel, an epic battle between man and monster at its greatest literary pitch. In trying to create life, the young student Victor Frankenstein unleashes forces beyond his control, setting into motion a long and tragic chain of events that brings Victor to the very brink of madness. How he tries to destroy his creation, as it destroys everything Victor loves, is a powerful story of love, friendship, scientific hubris, and horror.

One of the best performers for any audio book that I have ever heard. was fantastic at sucking you into the story. I underestimated thr book I really understand now how this book is defined as a classic. The book massages the mind to look at things from different perspectives. Part philosophy part fiction. I just wish more authors like this were still around.

Story
In Where Tyranny Begins, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Rohde investigates the strategies Trump systematically used to turn the country's two most powerful law-enforcement agencies into his personal political weapons. Rohde also reveals how, during the Biden years, Justice Department non-partisan 1970s norms that Attorney General Merrick Garland reinforced inadvertently helped Trump, and could fail to deliver a trial and legal accountability by Election Day 2024.

the narrative
Reviewed: 11-12-24
The book is an oversimplification of the fact which leads listner away from key facts which should not be ignored. Pure propaganda that gives you a narrative and leads away from the story. one of these is J6 events. if author was intellectually honest they would have mentioned Trump offering troops. An offer which was turned down. by the mayor of D.C. and Pelosi. Why would troops be offered if Trump was planning an insurrection. also doesn't mention how a FBI agent was fired for falsifying information on Carteer Page. Also doesn't mention Trumps driver that day and Lead agent saying that the Hutchinson narrative was false and how she changed her story only after meeting with Liz Cheney. Story
In the immediate aftermath of the attack on the Capitol of January 6, 2021, a growing movement of grassroots activists began plotting around the country to pick up where the insurrection left off, laying the groundwork to succeed next time where Donald Trump had failed to keep himself in power. Inspired by Trump’s false claims of a stolen election, this nationwide groundswell quickly moved beyond rhetoric and into action. Election deniers began capturing local party committees, elevating like-minded insurgents, and developing a new way forward.

Story
A masterpiece of satire, this classic has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below". At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C.S. Lewis gives us the correspondence of the worldly-wise old Devil to his nephew, Wormwood, a novice demon in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man.

Story
The tide is turning against the colonists in the Revolutionary War, and 18-year-old Elizabeth Morris cannot sit by idly. Quietly disdainful of her Tory parents, who drag her along to society events and welcome a British soldier into their home during their occupation of New York City, Elizabeth decides to take matters into her own hands. She realizes that, as a young woman, no one around her believes that she can comprehend the profound implications of being a nation at war - she is, effectively, invisible. And she can use this invisibility to her advantage.

Connor is living in Israel, enjoying the good life, when his world changes in a matter of seconds for good. Will he see Natasha again? What is the world searching for before it's too late? What is the motherland? I'm more excited about this book than any I have written so far. It's a powerful story. Motherland is a hair-raising thrill ride of suspense. The ending is shocking of course; as usual, you won't see it coming.

Seems to have swayed from his original connar Murray story. But still a great listen. Went through it in about two days. Well read and enjoyed the dramatization of the story. If you haven't read previous two books in the series. You won't be disappointed. Especially if you like history. Book very realistic for fiction, with the exception of a couple of spots. Gives good insight into modern world

But what if we could regain some of our lost evolutionary strength by simulating the environmental conditions of our forbears? Investigative journalist and anthropologist Scott Carney takes up the challenge to find out: Can we hack our bodies and use the environment to stimulate our inner biology?
