This is mostly an opposites attract story. Ian and Bo seem like two very different people but they still fit perfectly together.
Bo I a trans man, but that’s not the main point of the story. It’s merely one facet of who he is and I love how it wasn’t something that made Ian stop and think beyond “Hmm I’ll let him guide me in how to please him.”
The biggest conflict of the story revolves around how Bo feels about Ian being on his way to fame and where Bo can see himself fitting in to the picture.
Another thing I loved about this was, that both Ian and Bo came from a very loving and supportive background. That made me very happy.
Listen to this if you like stories about trans people but want it to be about something other than their transition.

Story
Rider doesn’t have a lot of rules when it comes to guys, but there is one - he doesn’t date, not ever. He’s content with random hookups because dating means too much. That’s reserved for the one person he knows he can never have: his best friend, Cameron. After watching his own family fall apart, Cam longs for someone who will stick it out through thick and thin. He’s had a string of girlfriends who never seem to be the right one. The one person he can always count on is Rider. One night out changes everything between them.

Best friends to lovers.
Reviewed: 08-03-22
Best friends to lovers is my absolute favorite trope, so when I was given the opportunity to review this story it was a no-brainer.
And this story absolutely delivered on all the feels this trope requires.
Cam and Rider have been best friends forever. Until one day when Rider cannot keep his feelings to himself anymore.
What I really loved about their relationship was how much they cared for each other, even before the confession. And how well they communicated.
One of my pet peeves is the storytelling device of misunderstandings and miscommunications, stories where the conflict would have been avoided if only the couple had an adult conversation.
Here the guys acted mature and spoke about their insecurities and I’m so here for it!
If you want a good solid romance listen where you don’t feel like yelling at the characters, this is absolutely the story for you.

Older-younger, richer-poorer, submissive-dominant. This is a story about two seemingly completely opposite people who still match up perfectly!
I loved how Silver helps Donovan gain confidence in himself and their relationship.
John Solo did a great job as usual with bringing these two men to life (although if I’m completely honest, I’d probably enjoy him reading the back of my shampoo bottle out loud…) and the run time of just shy of five and a half hours makes it a perfect story to listen to over the weekend!

The tale of a stubborn two-soul
Reviewed: 01-23-22
Author and narrator were new to me, but I really liked them both!
It was very easy to distinguish between the characters and their different personalities. And a growly voice is ALWAYS a plus in my book!!
The story was short but sweet. A half-elf two-soul trying to cheat fate and avoid his soulmate and his human soldier who won’t let him get away.
And the steam level…. Wow!
If you’re looking for a quick fantasy listen, without a majorly involved plot, this is the story for you. I for one am happy to have spent a few hours with these men.

Max and Eli forever!
Reviewed: 01-22-22
Once again this author has managed to make us take a good look at some tough subjects while disguising them in a cute shifter story.
This book brings up Sex work and Homosexuality and makes us think about how individual cultures view topics like these differently. But also how every culture has aspects of human nature that is condemned as wrong.
I love how Max and Eli stand up for their love and will do what it takes to be together!
The world of Heron Manor keeps growing and I’m so very here for it!

Oh the feels!
Reviewed: 11-07-21
I loved this story when I read it. And when I got the chance to listen to it to do a language check, I couldn’t have said yes any quicker!
It does come with a few trigger warnings though. Mentions of off page domestic violence. On page verbal abuse and body image issues.
That being said, the author handles these subjects with the gravity and respect they deserve. As a survivor, I could see myself in the struggles Buddy had with putting himself back together after what he’d been through. And I admittedly shed more than a few tears throughout the story.
Zachary Zaba was, as always, a great pleasure to listen to. He portrays the emotions so well and his Norwegian is not too shabby either. I’m very impressed!
This modern day retelling of Pinocchio is amazing and has my warmest recommendations!

Gabe thinks he’ll never have a bond of his own. He’s bond-cut, which means his scent gland is so scarred, he can’t bond to anyone - not even his best friend, Marcus, who he’s been in love with for six years. Gabe spends every waking moment with Marcus. They co-own a tattoo parlor and share an apartment. It was Gabe who gave Marcus the vibrant bird tattoos all over his body. But Gabe never plans to tell Marcus about his feelings. Marcus deserves a bond. Marcus may be huge, even for an alpha, but everyone knows he’s a marshmallow at heart.

Oh the pining!
Reviewed: 11-02-21
Full disclosure, I was given this audiobook in return for an honest review. Luckily for me, Amy Bellows is always a one-click buy for me and this story didn’t disappoint!
It sweet sweet pining combined with hot hot sexy times as Amy is so very good at.
Normally I’m not really into omegaverse stories, but this author manages to make a simple love story about so much more than just two people getting together. There’s always a deeper layer with a commentary on gender, sexuality and relationships and how society views these subjects. And I’m so here for it!
Lance West is a new narrator to me, but this definitely won’t be my last story narrated by him. He has a lovely calm way of sharing the story and conveying the emotions of the characters that had me swallow this story in only two sittings.

Story
All I want is a clever person to play cards with at night. No funny business. You sleep in your bed, and I’ll sleep in mine. Must be clean, quiet, sober, and willing to go to bed at a reasonable hour. A preference will be given to applicants who can play cribbage and gin rummy. Sure, Kade wouldn’t normally consider a position as a companion for a polar bear shifter sentenced to a life in the oil fields of Alaska’s North Slope. But he’s broke.

Come for the cute penguins, stay for the social commentary
Reviewed: 08-04-21
When I first started on this series, I went into it thinking “Hey, cute penguin shifters!” But with every story this world gets bigger and more complex. And the author has a sneaky way of commenting on a lot of social issues, be it gender identity, racism or, as in this particular story, punishment fitting the crime and how some societies have for-profit-ways of dealing with criminals.
All this while still giving us cute penguins, steamy sexiness and hilarious nesting practices.
I love love love this author who made it so I have to insta buy shifter stories (which are normally not my favorite) and I forgive her for making my wallet empty as long as she keeps my heart full with all the feels.
