The books is history heavy, which is great, but it could certainly use a pdf. The pdf would permit the listener to look back at abbreviations, names, and possible locations on maps. Other than that, it would have given it a 5 star across the board.

I grew to enjoy the story very much. I’m not a fan of romance and this story has its share. However, as the story continued I understood its purpose. Some of the romance could have been minimized but it’s necessary to cement the relationship between the main characters and provide the foundation for the series. Looking forward to book 2.

Overwritten? Deletion of content would have made this book a 5 star across the board. I enjoyed it but not as much as others in the series. The ending is fantastic and I believe I can see where we are headed. Looking forward to the second arc.

Story
Thirty years after the Great Fatigue infected the globe—and the treatment regressed most of the human race to a primitive state—Seth Keller makes a gruesome discovery in his adoptive father’s makeshift lab. This revelation forces him to leave the safety of his desert home and the only other person left in the world…at least, as far as he knows. In the jungles of Costa Rica, Sarah Peoples has made her own discovery—just as horrific, and just as life-changing. It will take her far from the fledgling colony of New Haven, yet never out of reach of its ruthless leader.

A great story blending today’s reality, a personal journey, and a fictional post-apocalyptic life. The back and forth of the perspectives and storylines until they converge are amazing. Only knock, are the mispronunciations by the female narrator. Besides that, I’m looking forward to book two, The Merry Men.

To get the book. I really enjoyed the development the characters were given in the book and marrying it with the ones from the movie. Although I knew what would happen the book kept my high interest in the story. A wonderful narration.

Story
Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

At various points of the story it feels like you are being scolded, talked down to, or being "taught" something. No wonder Newt Gingrich liked it enough to do the Foreword. Thanks but no thanks. Very slow and the narrator is average at best.

This book brought back all the joy that the first book introduced. Multiple storylines, adventure, time travel, a weaving of history. A great way to “end” the six part series….and if you listen carefully, Dubya makes a guest appearance.
I hope Andrew Hastie provides us with more to the Infinity Engines series.

Out of the 5 books so far, this one is my least favorite. There are some great characters, storylines, and one liners (“I’ve always wondered how that story began” - speaking of Merlin) but it felt a little choppy. Looking forward to the 6th!
