If you were a Tom Clancy fan you will love Jack Carr! The difference is Tom Clancy had you knee deep in tech manuals while Jack Carr slows the viceral action of a gunfight down to each round as it enters and exits the chamber. I felt the cold of Siberia and the horror of being hunted in this one.

Craig Alanson and RC Bray will go down in history as the GOAT storytellers of our century. I have been reading for almost 50 years and the X Force series is the best fiction I have ever read. Tom Clancy eat your hart out. Craig Alanson is the best fictional author dog our time. The interwoven humor and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat for two months as I missed work skipped chores and could think of nothing else but would Joe and his Beer Can survive. Thank you Craig for the entertainment, the hold my belly laughing and pure joy that has come from following this series! Now my son is a fan and I plan on re reading this entire series every year. As a Army combat veteran I deeply appreciate the military realism and satire. How do you know the things you know about military life Craig? You really did your homework! Thanks again!

Story
At the time of his tragic death in February 2013, former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, the most accomplished sniper in U.S. military history, was finishing a remarkable book that retold American history through the lens of a hand-selected list of firearms. Kyle masterfully argues that guns have played a fascinating, indispensable, and often under-appreciated role in our national story. He carefully chose ten guns to help tell his story, ranging from the American long rifle to the modern M-16, and uses these guns as a platform for exploring American history.
