Story
Rion Kwirk comes from a rather odd family. His mother named him and his sisters after her favorite constellations, and his father makes funky-flavored jellybeans for a living. One sister acts as if she’s always on stage, and the other is a walking dictionary. But no one in the family is more odd than Rion’s grandfather, Papa Kwirk. He’s the kind of guy who shows up on his motorcycle only on holidays handing out crossbows and stuffed squirrels as presents. Rion has always been fascinated by Papa Kwirk, especially as his son - Rion’s father - is the complete opposite.

I Struggled To Get Through This
Reviewed: 09-03-24
While I appreciate the messages within the story, it was too dull for my taste. It had some amusing parts, but the first 2/3 of the book was heavily stagnant. The ending was good, but I felt like they could've amped up the earlier chapters with less droning on.

Story
On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

Everything about this resonated very strongly with me. A lot of what Dr. Brene shares very wholeheartedly and in a comical and relatable way is much of what I've been learning in life in recent years. Her stories are all things we've experienced and I love the perspective she shares in them. I've already recommended this to my sister and adult niece. Truly great for anyone, anytime because this is about living our best!

I like the straight forward way this is told. Good details from what I can tell, answered most of the questions I came up with as he told the story. I don't think it was mentioned if the timing of the tractor and timing of the person seen walking along the road and ducking into the woods provided any further support to Thomas' story. Seems like someone would be able to at least corroborate any anger he likely expressed about their supposed living situation.

Story
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Relatable Layers
Reviewed: 06-22-24
When my intuition told me to search "How To Open Your Heart," the results were a mix of fiction and how-to books. I didn't read any summeries, only went by my feels. Even though I had a strong pull towards this book (I thought it might be because the title was an exact match for what I'd been led to search for), I was expecting a kind of 'how-to' approach and figured it would just be something I started without finishing, only taking general tips with me.
This was such a beautiful surprise! Very authentically written and narrated (Audible version), I got so much more than I had expected. There was even a moment I cried uncontrollably due to a synchronicity that had to do with a video I'd done a few weeks prior to finding this book, which was about learning to open my heart. I titled the video "The Key To Everything." This book tells a beautiful truth of growth through continually opening to your soul in many different ways, of course! It helps you to not only find your key, but to use it to unlock your best life! I absolutely love this book, especially because it came from a masculine perspective. I'll definitely listen to it again and recommend!
