A great mix of the traditional, the contemporary, and the technological. Well-structured plot, and while it has a satisfying resolution, definitely leaves the possibility for more.

I can see where it might appeal to some people, but it wasn't for me. Very contemplative and internal. I didn't find the protagonist likeable, so it was hard for me to take interest in his stumbling through life.

Is this a great literary masterpiece that will totally revolutionize the genre? Not really. Is it a really fun story? Yes. It was exactly what I was looking for to send my brain on holiday.

A lush, multilayered narrative that is both dreamlike and grounded. Well-defined characters. I couldn't stop listening. Very good performance.

Great story about feeling like an outsider and making connections. Characters are well developed and sympathetic. Intriguing world building. Strikes a good balance of addressing serious issues without being too heavy.

Overall an enjoyable book. A little more action than the first book, which makes sense as there is less need for exposition. Falls occasionally into some YA fantasy cliches, but if you don't over think it, they aren't too distracting. The reader performance is good, but there are a few off moments where there's clearly a wrong word or mispronounced word that I would have expected to be fixed with editing.

This work is part true crime story, part traditional belief narrative, part critique of colonialism. Nuanced performance. Really important work. Wish there were more like it.

Really nice to have a real representation of the life of a disabled performer, rather than a saccharine inspirational one. Author seems like someone who would be great to hang out with. There are some weird pacing and chronological things.

Powerful, sensitively written piece on a difficult topic. Doesn't shy away from the horrors of Juarez, but manages not to sensationalize them either. Difficult to listen to, but important.
