This was… really bad

I expected something better. I feel that sort of it is on me, I don’t like the deadpan narration, and this kind of writing is very straightforward yet the plot doesn’t move at all. But the biggest issue was hands down the age gap. They even acknowledge that it’s weird and creepy in the book and every time they talk about it worse and worse. I couldn’t take it anymore

Im probably the biggest fan of Vassalord out there, an obscure vampire manga from the 2000’s that was never fully officially translated. It’s my favorite BL and I will always look for any other content about it. Imagine my joy finding the cd dramas here!!! This story differs from the manga so it’s fresh and exciting, and the voice actors are doing too notch work to represent Charles and Rayflo, the rest of the cast was great too.

Story
When Amethyst Faye was six years old, she was almost stolen by a monster in the woods on the same night her mother mysteriously disappeared. Ten years, a half-dozen psychiatrists, and a slew of diagnoses haven’t made things any better; she is still plagued by nightmares, ridiculed at school, and misunderstood by everyone from her teachers to her counselor to her father. And lately she’s been sprouting thick green thorns out of her skin.

Middle of the road

There is nothing super interesting about this book. It wasn’t terrible, but also not great, I think the author has potential and I would be excited to see their work again. The narration was good.
The story has potential, but I doesn’t go for any of the interesting paths it could have. And it relies in you liking and supporting the love story in the middle of it, witch unfortunately was the worst part and I didn’t like it at all. The fairy imagery was nice, and they could have gone scarier with it.

And the one person who believes her is the dangerously attractive guy who's bound by an ancient legacy to betray her. Adrian might have turned his back on those who raised him, but that doesn't mean he can change his fate, no matter how strong a pull he feels toward Ivy.

This was awful!!

I can’t tell you one redeeming quality about this book, the plot is contrived, the characters are stupid. Bless the narrator’s heart, she did her best but everything else was so bad the book couldn’t be saved.

It was a nice book! The setting is to my liking and the characters were interesting, it was spooky enough to grab you without being too graphic, i can see a wide variety of readers being interested in this title. The romance evoques old stories and was nice as well.

Story
Simon Snow is the worst Chosen One who's ever been chosen. That's what his roommate, Baz, says. And Baz might be evil and a vampire and a complete git, but he's probably right. Half the time, Simon can't even make his wand work, and the other half, he starts something on fire. His mentor's avoiding him, his girlfriend broke up with him, and there's a magic-eating monster running around, wearing Simon's face.

Just not for me

I was very excited to listen to this one, but it was a letdown, the world isn’t compelling, the writing is hard to follow and I think it has jokes(?) but they don’t land for me. It took way to long for the plot to start and even then everything that came before was boring and hard to follow too.
