The world teeters on the brink of destruction. The people who should be saving the Earth ignore Jason Asano's warnings and choose to loot the house as it burns down around them. He lacks the strength to save the world himself, but resolves to do it anyway, impossible be damned. The impossible, in this case, means seizing a power that no mortal should touch. It's a choice from which there is no turning back, and marks Jason's first step into a wider cosmos that he is not yet ready to face. Holding the fate of two worlds in his hands, Jason must decide for himself what home truly means.

This was a great book. It was suggested by a friend. I wasn't a huge fan of the narrator. Some characters he played very well and then others wasn't too good. I'm not sure if he tried too hard to add effects which took away from the overall story. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and minus the character or 2, it was narrated well.

Story
Minalan gave up a promising career as a professional warmage to live the quiet life of a village spellmonger in the remote mountain valley of Boval. It was a peaceful, beautiful little fief, far from the dangerous feudal petty squabbles of the Five Duchies, on the world of Callidore. There were cows. Lots of cows. And cheese. For six months things went well: He found a quaint little shop, he befriended the local lord, the village folk loved him, he found a sharp young apprentice to help out, and, best yet, he met a comely young widow with the prettiest eyes.

This book was very hard to listen too. The narrator made it seem like a history lesson and the book itself would talk about the same moment present and then past tense so through the book you wonder if what is going on is happening or has already happened and it really is a history of the man. Sometimes the narrator would also narrate the character in one voice and when he was thinking something he would narrate in a different voice well he was in a group which made it a little confusing at times. The book is also written backwards, if you start from the middle it will give you the information you need to understand the beginning of the book. Overall, this book had potential, but it was really dry and it was like a history lesson of another place that the reader should already know the other half of the lesson.

This whole series was a good series. It ended well, but it leaves the reader wanting more even though it has a good ending. The whole series keeps you on the edge if your seat and really locks the reader in. It was a very enjoyable read.

Story
The Wizard's Council of Tarador was supposed to tell young Koren Bladewell that he is a wizard. They were supposed to tell everyone that he is not a jinx, that all the bad things that happen around him are because he can't control the power inside him, power he doesn't know about. The people of his village, even his parents, are afraid of him, afraid he is cursed. That he is a dangerous, evil jinx.

This book is good from the start. It gets the reader hooked and draws you in and it gets better and better. Eventually there is a lot of politics for the kingdom, but even if it gets disinteresting, it shifts characters frequently so you don't go multiple chapters without hearing from your favorite character. This was a very enjoyable book to read.

This book was completely Awesome. I saw the movie before reading the book and they are both equally enjoyable. The only problem I had with the the book is it took 9 of the 40 chapters to describe the gaming system the main characters uses and then on chapter 2 it's more of a religious book. A friend suggested the book and I almost called it quits after 3 or 4 chapters, but of you wait it out, the book eventually does get better.

This book was very enjoyable. I loved the story and the narrator. The only problem I had with the audio book was that the music was really overkill. Sometimes there was real dramatic music for no reason at all. The music in between chapters was alright, but it seems to be randomly thrown around in the book. Besides the random overkill music, the book is great!

this book was completely epic! It starts off just throwing names at the reader which was hard to get a grasp on at forst, but once you are able to remember the names of the characters the book gets really good. It was hard to put down. The only real problem I had listening to this book was there were many times the narrator was hard to understand and once you get about half way it sounds like he was only reading half sentences. Also, the narrator had a few problems with creating the characters. The first time the queen is introduced he sounds like an old fickle woman, later the book describes her as a young beautiful woman and he changes his voice to match. Anytime the queen talks to her delegates the narrator made her sound old, but any scene that's intimate to her life he would change her voice again, the queen was one character the narrator gave 3 different voices and it was somewhat distracting. I found myself rewinding a few times because it was start off in a man's voice "...said the queen" and it threw me off. besides some small things, the book itself was completely awesome!
