About this listen

The Wizard's Council of Tarador was supposed to tell young Koren Bladewell that he is a wizard. They were supposed to tell everyone that he is not a jinx, that all the bad things that happen around him are because he can't control the power inside him, power he doesn't know about. The people of his village, even his parents, are afraid of him, afraid he is cursed. That he is a dangerous, evil jinx. The Wizard's Council didn't tell young Koren, because they know what is best for him. Even after their silent deception destroys his life.

Crown Princess Ariana Trehayme will become queen of Tarador on her 16th birthday, if her weak, indecisive mother the Regent hasn't allowed their ancient enemy to conquer Tarador before then. Ariana wants her royal army to strike at the enemy, but her mother knows what is best for her, and the realm.Together, Ariana and Koren can save Tarador, if the adults, who know best, will get out of their way.

(Spoilers) A lot of the plot has to do with miscommunication between characters. It’s a good tool, but felt it was way over used to the point where it takes the reader out of the experience.

A bit repetitive, but still great

Very good

Language is very mild. Very entertaining. Original writing style. Facinating story. Corrin is a great protagonist, who seems to push through regardless of countless hardships and bad luck. I want to see this character reach his full potential.

This is a perfect book to read to a budding teen.

I am a fan of the fantasy genre and this story gave me all that I hoped for. I chose this book because Tim Gerard Reynolds was the narrator and he did not let me down.

Awesome story to get lost in.

Love the story, classic tales of young under-appreciated and low born protagonists rising above their station in life and doing amazingly heroic deeds against all odds always wins in my book. Great job Alanson
