Story
Civilization has fallen. The solar system is blanketed with the automated weapons of ancient wars, engineered plagues, hazardous waste, rogue AI, monsters from outside our dimension, artificial disasters, and nuclear climate change. Every moment of life on Earth is a brutal fight for survival. The people of Sol carry on, but hope is at a premium. They need something more. Someone with a plan, a savior, a hero. What they get is Lily.

Her name is Lily.
She is a cat.
She has been alive for a very, very long time.
Golden ages of humanity have come and gone, and she has been there. Watching over them all.
She is the last living being upon one of the oldest space stations in orbit. Most definitely the most advanced.
There are so many, many different things that she has to do to keep the station running. To keep humanity safe. Sometimes from outside threats. Sometimes from itself.
She is a cat.
This station was not built for cats. But someone has to keep it safe. And there is no one else.
She has been alone for a very… very… Very. Long. Time.

Story
Hello stranger, my name is Tal, and I’m not an adventurer—those people are crazy. I’m just a sorcerer who is masquerading as a wizard. Oh, and I’m searching for answers about my parents’ mysterious deaths. Also monsters and other foes seem to show up wherever I go. All right, I see it. My new traveling companions are seasoned adventurers and are teaching me their ways—or at least they were before something happened to Time.

This story is perfect for Audible

This is a story from the perspective of a book, specifically a Spellbook. Every single word is something that the main character purposely wrote inside, and if it’s not, it’s something that he copied into it and chose to show at that specific part of the story. Weirdly enough, this makes it absolutely perfect for an audiobook. It’s extremely well narrated, Travis Baldree is very good at his job, and he gives the characters a life of their own that makes this well worth listening even if you’ve already read the book. This isn’t just an audiobook adaptation to let people read it in a different form, it actually adds to the experience of the story itself.

This story was so good. Listen closely for the clues, because there are things hidden between the lines that foreshadow what’s going to happen. In this book and the ones to come. I find it appropriate that one of them is a Seer, given the importance of foreshadowing in this story.

The crew of the airship Beaver Cleaver are willing to follow Broccoli Bunch wherever she may lead them—a grand gesture of love and loyalty for someone who’s only been their captain for a week. They admire her ability to resolve conflicts and forge friendships under even the most dire and dangerous of situations, as well as her courage on the battlefield against those who threaten all that is good in the world.

As with all the cinnamon bun books, I'm certain I'm going to listen to this more than once. When this volume ended I was genuinely surprised, because it really didn't feel like it had been over 12 hours.
Thanks for all the words, bird, and thanks for speaking them, Reba.

Story
It's not easy being the most famous and attractive villain in the United States, but somebody has to do it. And it might as well be Via Rodriguez, aka "Empress." Via's used to outsmarting the ever-so-arrogant Heroes that come her way. Her wicked schemes take an unexpected turn, however, after a getaway gone wrong lands both her and her current foe—the annoyingly perky Electra—in the middle of an unknown land that is definitely not Earth.

This was an amazing story to listen to. It grabs you with the premise from the start, and then the characters hook their claws in you and from there on the story takes off so quickly there’s no stopping it. I love the characters, especially the dynamic between Empress and Rel, and the story is fantastic. I can’t wait for the next book.

Story
The Questing Stones have come to Nowherested, and Evelia Greene is finally ready to receive her life's quest. Perhaps she'll be a great warrior, or a wealthy merchant, or a brilliant mage. Perhaps her quest is simply to live a quiet life, constantly honing a craft to the heights of perfection. Or perhaps the Questing Stones will grant her the legendary mission of popping over to the next village to pick up a loaf of bread.

This was absolutely hilarious yet also incredibly interesting to read. The narrator was perfect, their words clear and expressive, making the story easy to follow along and understand. The story itself was incredibly good, the worldbuilding, characters, and plot getting even deeper and more captivating as you read on. The constant banter between all the characters was phenomenal. Can’t wait to binge the next book too!

Story
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

Why wait for a Hero when you can do it yourself?
Reviewed: 05-28-20
This story was absolutely amazing. So many references and jokes, so many cliches turned on their heads, and so many, many, slimes killed. Common sense just gets in the way sometimes, as this not-quite-hero proves over and over. I don’t know how to describe the pure delight I felt as she broke traditions, rules, and the general worldview of her companions at nearly every other word. In a universe where cliches are not only normal, but admired, she proves that a little determination and a lot of obsession can, quite literally, change the world.
