Great story about friends, but would not say it’s horror
Reviewed: 09-19-23
This is an awesome story about two best friends who stick together through everything. Definitely not a thriller until the last hour or so of the book. The ending is super great and wraps. Everything up in a nice little bow I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a good friendship story.

Story
Take a tour through the horror paperback novels of two iconic decades...if you dare. Hear shocking plot summaries that invoke devil worship, satanic children, and haunted real estate! Horror author and vintage paperback book collector Grady Hendrix offers killer commentary and witty insight on these trashy thrillers that tried so hard to be the next Exorcist or Rosemary's Baby. Complete with story summaries and artist and author profiles, this unforgettable volume dishes on familiar authors like V. C. Andrews and R. L. Stine, plus many more.

The story is absolute gold! The best way I can describe it is apocalypse, but add vampires. The traditional vampires was a breath a fresh air! Don’t think just download and listen, you won’t be disappointed! I could not recommend this book enough!

This definitely isn’t a bad book, but just not what I was expecting it to be. There are very expected and stereotypical twists for a mystery. Ending is as expected.

What happens to Cujo, how he becomes a horrifying vortex inescapably drawing in all the people around him, makes for one of the most heart-stopping novels Stephen King has ever written.

Narrator is great but the story is boring

If you want to listen about a family going through hardships this is the book for you. If you’re looking for a story about Cujo this isn’t it. Honestly, this is a long, boring, and unexciting book. I would not recommend.

Marriage is hard enough for the everyday civilian. But imagine marriage when you’re separated by thousands of miles, when one of you daily faces the dangers of combat, while the other shoulders all the burden of home-front duties. Add to that the unpredictable schedules, frequent moves, and the challenge of reintegration, and it’s no wonder military marriages are under stress.

Easy to understand

Sometimes books regarding this topic can be overwhelming and difficult to understand. This book is an easy read and has some very interesting information. This books talks about both spouses doing their part which was a breath of fresh air concerning in my experience the blame and the fixer always has to be on the wife. Only down side is the narrator is not jam he didn’t do a bad job but I didn’t find it to be as good as others.

When Dr. Louis Creed takes a new job and moves his family to the idyllic, rural town of Ludlow, Maine, this new beginning seems too good to be true. Yet despite Ludlow's tranquility, there's an undercurrent of danger that lingers...like the graveyard in the woods near the Creeds' home, where generations of children have buried their beloved pets.

I was expecting something scary, but got what I felt was lots of details that overcame the actual story. I know what I’m about to say it’s controversial, but the movies of It are a lot better than this book. So save some time and watch the two movies.
