It is a nice easy fun listen. The multi voices sounded just like the movie characters. The plot is easy enough to entertain children but entertaining enough for adults to listen as well.
Olaf is a one of a kind character!!!

Even though I find it all too unbelievable, I accept the premise that they “exploit” the ghosts, it’s hard for me to believe that she doesn’t want to tell Josh. He is a welcome newcomer. I’m so glad it wasn’t the teacher.,.
The twists he plots take are quite clever, especially in this one.
Amanda is one of my favorite readers. She she Penèlope Keith are the voices in my head!!!

Story
Daphne, the fourth daughter of the Reverend Charles Armitage, is beautiful - dazzlingly beautiful - but she is utterly wrapped up in her own appearance. It seems fitting when she decides to marry the exquisite Cyril Archer, who is as empty-headed and vain as she is; after all, once she is safely married, she can hide her true nature behind her beauty, never expected by anyone (least of all her husband) to do or say anything clever. Moreover, marrying Cyril will preserve her from the zealous schemes of her father.

An easy listen. Gotta love The Reverend
Reviewed: 06-06-23
I have enjoyed all the books of this series, but the plot of this one is definitely different from the first three. I love all the characters, but there is a definite formula in most series… This one steps out of that for the most part.
What can I say other than Marion Chesney… she’s delivered so many good stories.
The narrators voice is very pleasant. It’s a little raspy so both male and female voices don’t sound too forced.
Looking forward to see how he gets Diana and Fredrica wed. It is to bad that the mother is so one dimensional. I would have liked to have seen her either be absolutely insane or just make the Reverend a widow. The fits do get tedious.
Well worth the time and money!!! I’m almost out of MC books to read/listen to!!!

Admittedly, I started with this book, so I won’t complain about not knowing some of the back story, but I feel I was waiting for something to HAPPEN, some real trouble shooting and snooping by the lead character. Never did. When it finally happened I was so bored with the bank story that I didn’t care.
I’m not a fan of the characters, especially the Aunt. However, that could be because I’m also not a big fan of the narrator so maybe it was just her voice that was grinding. Each character sounds like they have an accent or an impediment. Almost like some of it was AI narrated.
It gave me something to listen to, and I’m grateful for that and that it’s free. But I doubt I’ll dl another by her it this narrator… but you never know

Ten books!!! I love every one of them!!!
Reviewed: 04-16-23
I hesitated to get this because the sample didn’t pull me in, but because I’ve almost literally listened to a couple hundred cozy mysteries and only has One credit left I thought it would keep me company while I sitting cleaned… to be honest the first few chapters were hard to get into. Aunt Cas was a busy body and Luce always sounded like she was a bit drunk maybe… but I met Adams… fell in love immediately. The characters fell into place: whose mom’s daughter is who’s, but what really grabbed me was there not all “ goodie good” witches like so many are, only using their pets for good… please if I had that power I’d be doing age potions, love spells, and breaking and entering with concealment spells. Their chaotic goodness was wonderful.
I literally felt like I was friends with each character and kinda sad to say Good bye.
They really all should be listened to in consecutive order as one mystery ends, but leaves unanswered questions that are later answered. The relationships of the women with the men is sweet and kind. No almost together but… no… almost together… but no… They love very much and deeply, right up until the end.
I love their cat has a girlfriend later on and she’s perfect. No swearing or sex. It was a comfortably listen and funny. The writer is very funny. She writes like a friend telling you a story with all the excitement they do when something great it bad happens.
This takes me to the narrator. Again, I’m s Penèlope Keith can do it took a bit to get used to, but she tells the story with how you assume the characters felt. It’s not dry reading. The different characters were easily recognized, if not by their voices than by their personas.
Con: I wish there was more of Bill. And, the bill doesn’t follow ghost lore and characteristics that every story tells about them passing through objects and leaving a cold chill, instead they bounce… far and away… but it only happens a few times so I can overlook it.
Definitely worth ONE CREDIT, and the time.
Spoilerish, there are some weird time shifts in the later books but they work and easy to follow.
I’m not sure why there are a few bad reviews, but I guarantee once you get to know them, you’ll love the Torrent (Stern) witches as well.
Thank you for such a wonderful adventure!!!!

The With character is terrible. The only stores i remotely liked were of the news caster.

Finlay Donovan has been in messes before—after all, she's an author and single mom who's a pro at getting out bloodstains for rather unexpected reasons—but none quite like this. After she and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero accidentally destroyed a luxury car that they may have "borrowed" in the process of saving the life of Finlay's ex-husband, the Russian mob got her out of debt. But now Finlay owes them.

I love that all the characters are there and that the stories can be read separately but do hinge on the prior stories!!!
Vero is awesome… I think she’s my favorite character. The love story could pick up a little but it is making want the next book!
Narrator is great and all the voices are distinct. She reads as though she’s acting, not just reading.
A great series of mishaps and blunders that will endear all the characters to you!!!

Story
Finlay Donovan is - once again - struggling to finish her next novel and keep her head above water as a single mother of two. On the bright side, she has her live-in nanny and confidant Vero to rely on, and the only dead body she's dealt with lately is that of her daughter's pet goldfish. On the not-so-bright side, someone out there wants her ex-husband, Steven, out of the picture. Permanently. Whatever else Steven may be, he's a good father, but saving him will send her down a rabbit hole of soccer moms disguised as hit-women.

A wonderful triumph in a world of mysteries where the criminal is usually easily spotted or stuck in at the end…
The absolute drive for these characters to NOT get into trouble takes them down a delightful rabbit hole. Wonderful love interests. Hilarious characters that are so three dimensional you’ll feel you know them. The misunderstandings and conclusions that are arrived at are genius and I hope there will be another.
Exceptional writing, flawlessly read… do yourself a favor and treat your self to Finley Donovan!!! Jil
