About this listen

The quaint coastal town of South Cove, California, is all abuzz about the opening of a new specialty shop, Tea Hee. But as Coffee, Books, and More owner Jill Gardner is about to find out, there's nothing cozy about murder.

Shop owner Kathi Corbin says she came to South Cove to get away from her estranged family. But is she telling the truth? And did a sinister someone from her past follow her to South Cove? When a woman claiming to be Kathi's sister starts making waves and a dead body is found in a local motel, Jill must step in to clear Kathi's name - without getting herself in hot water.

Another entertaining cozy mystery

Each book in this series has been entertaining and a fun listen. My only critique of this one is that as more and more peripheral characters were added it became harder to keep up with who was who.

Good story but with a few production issues

If you are a lover of this series you will not be disappointed. One of my favorites narrators! There are few repeated phrases; not certain if these are in the print edition or only this one.

If You Like Quaint Little Towns

Stories that take place in the little "walking towns" draw me. I could imagine the shops and feel like I got to know the characters. One interesting thing is the cheesecake. Every other page, someone is indulging and yet, no one seems to be chubby or rotund. I enjoyed the story although it was a light mystery. I did not choose it as a whodunit, but to listen to tales of life in a small town. In the beginning of the book, I thought, "pleasant read", but I would not buy another one of these books. I was drawn in and would definitely read another one.

The narrator was excellent most of the time; in fact, the only times that I felt distracted by the reading was when the timing of speech was off. It made me wonder if the fault was hers at all.

Nice book.

Not as good as previous installments

Lynn Cahoon has written another installment in the series that is not as good as previous ones, but is still enjoyable. All our favorite characters are back and still going strong. I’m hoping the next in series will return to the level of earlier installments.

Audio skips

The story is good just like the first books in the series but there are several places where the author repeats phrases as it sounds like the audio skips. It’s very annoying and slows down the flow.

This was pretty good. Better than I expected after some of the reviews.

Not as much as I would have liked about the house. But people were definitely nicer including Greg. More sense of community.

Great storyline this go- round!

I've really gotten hooked on this series! Jill never listens to her boyfriend tell her to stay out of investigations, but secretly I think he likes that she sneaks around to get involved. Lol. This one wasn't as suspenseful as some of the others, but still a great read!

A Beach Party

South Cove Is having another festival with a carnival and partying on the beach. There’s also a new business in town with a beautiful southern belle owner. Then there’s the marauding motorcycle rider. Just another few days in South Cove.
