I love the Last Herald Mage Trilogy (this is Book 2). I've tried to ignore the terrible narrator but they ruin the story.

Great story with lots of fun and serious twists
A good story is only good if you believe the performer is the lead character, and I did from the first chapter. And please write a sequel

This book and the first book in the series are delightful stories made even better by a truly excellent performer. I completely bought in to the narrators take on the lead character as well as the other characters in the books. I heartily recommend both books and look forward to perhaps a third.

Lots of Surprises
Reviewed: 06-20-24
Based on the blurb summarizing the book I had much different expectations for the story. Happily the actual story is much better, more nuanced, and full of the unexpected. A good audiobook needs a good performer. They have to be believable as the characters. This performer captured the essence of both of the leads, switching effortless and convincing between each.

Kara at our most fabulous
Reviewed: 03-12-24
There's only one thing better than listening to Kara on her two podcasts and that is having her read a book to you. this is a wonderful peek inside the development of the tech industry as we know it. Kara this insightful, self-deprecating, humble, and completely self-aware of her role in reporting on the tech industry which is more than you can say for every tech bro she reports about. Her credibility is enhanced by her point of view as a woman and a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Check out her weekly podcast On with Kara Swisher and Pivot with her sometimes tiresome partner but always a worthy foil Scott Galloway

Fair Warning this is a depressingly sad tale
Reviewed: 10-03-23
My first read of a book from this universe. Are all the books this sad and depressing? The narrator is quite good, capturing the youth of the lead characters, the absurdity of the secondary characters and the terror of the world the story takes place.

I loved this book. Having 3 narrators doing the 3 main characters is a brilliant idea. Allowed for distinctive development of each character. The combination of the LGBTQ storylines mixed with the occult is unique and brilliant.....yep I think this was a brilliant book. Excellent ending , still would love a sequel, really would like to know what happens next for these characters
