Story
After seeing her maybe-mobster boss murder a guy, Delaney James assumes a new identity and pretends to be a mail order bride. She finds her groom-to-be living in a town that celebrates Halloween every day. Weird. But not as weird as what she doesn't know. Her groom-to-be is a 400-year-old vampire.

A little disappointing and flat.
Reviewed: 06-10-22
I had high hopes for this book, but it fell a little flat for me. The overall story was fairly good and interesting, and I loved the interesting town and all of the cute shops. However, for me, reading this story felt a little like drinking watered down pop or juice. It had the potential to be great, but it just wasn't. The romance was way too fast and underdeveloped. The couple are only together for one week and they are suddenly hopelessly in love. It was very unrealistic and ridiculous to me. Also, the book left several things either unexplained or unresolved. Finally, the action scenes were rather abrupt and disappointing. They were over in the blink of an eye and not really satisfying. Overall, this book was somewhat good, but also rather disappointing.

A satisfying and interesting story. I thought that the different magical crafts were interesting, and the characters were engaging and captivating. My only complaints are that this book was too short and a little underdeveloped. But it is still an aussom story. I can't wait to read the next book and the series that follow.

His hero, Luigi Lemoncello, the most notorious and creative game maker in the world, just so happens to be the genius behind the building of the new town library. Lucky Kyle wins a coveted spot to be one of the first 12 kids in the library for an overnight of fun, food, and lots and lots of games. But when morning comes, the doors remain locked.

Satisfyingly imaginative and just plain awesome

A truly fantastic and imaginative read. I really enjoyed this book. I wish this library was real, because I would spend most of my free time there. I particularly liked the learning center. It was totally aussum! The narrator did a fantastic job too. The only negative things I have to say is there were a few instances of totally lame dialog, and some of the kids in the story raised their hands when they wanted to ask a question or to express an opinion when talking to their peers. It was a little weird. I don't think I Ever raisgh my hand in a conversation except in school, and these characters did not distingguish between adults and peers. Other than those two things, this was a fantastic book, and I can't wait to read another by this author. I would reccomend this book to anyone including mature adults who love solving puzzles, and having a good laugh.

A truly fascinating and thought-provoking read

I really enjoyed reading this book. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat biting my nails the whole time. I also liked all of the characters. The narrater did an excellent job capturing the emotions of the plot twists. It was also very thought provoking because the plot twists and various timelines kept my brain engaged long after I had come to the end of the book. You almost need to draw up an outline or graph to figure all of the timelines out. When reading this book, beware that those time lines will make your head spin. But it does make you think, and I am very glad that I decided to read this book. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did.

This is one of my favorite In death books. The story is fascinating, and the narration is spectacular. Susan Ericson has a real gift for narrating audio books. I love her irish accent, and I love that she can put real honest emotion in her reading. Its like she's really experiencing what the characters are experiencing. The story and the narration make this a truly terrific book. I especially loved the suspense at the end. If you like the in death series, you will love this book. Its also a good book to read to try out this series. I cannot say it enough, this is a truly fabulous book.

For 12-year-old Emily, the best thing about moving to San Francisco is that it's the home city of her literary idol: Garrison Griswold, book publisher and creator of the online sensation Book Scavenger (a game where books are hidden in cities all over the country and clues to find them are revealed through puzzles). Upon her arrival, however, Emily learns that Griswold has been attacked and is now in a coma, and no one knows anything about the epic new game he had been poised to launch.

This was a great book!! The scavenger hunt and puzzles were truly fascinating. The characters were intersting, well defined, and believable. Most importantly, it had a great ending. This is the first book I have read from this author, and now I cannot wait to try more of her books.
