I jut can't get past how self-interested and judgemental the main female character is. I finally had to quit reading. She is just a horrible person with little empathy except with her sister.

Story
When a one-night stand announces I just became a father to a baby girl, my world is thrown into turmoil. My choice: single fatherhood or sign adoption papers. The decision is easy. Within hours, I'm on a plane to collect my daughter. I’m in over my head. I barely know one end of a baby from the other. Luckily, I have the perfect plan. I’ll hire live-in help, have limited involvement with the kid, and keep my life just the same as it’s always been.

I loved the beginning
Reviewed: 01-07-25
This book began so well. I just loved the story-line and characters. The last third felt as if it devolved into agonizing and immaturity. It does not seem like anyone else felt the same way but it just felt so childish to me. I feel that most 25-year olds have more maturity. Its so well performed and the characters are lovable. It is disappointing that it became lesser in the end.

What Happened to Sebastian York
Reviewed: 08-13-24
I enjoyed this book as I do all of the Lasker brothers books. This series is so enjoyable!
But, what happened to Sebastian York. The male narrator sounds as if he is emulating Scott Brick, who's readings I cannot listen to at all! He isn't as overly dramatic like Scott Brick. Although it was grating so I got through but please, please bring Sebastian York back!

I wanted to love this story
Reviewed: 07-12-24
I think it is really pretty good but I wanted to love this story. It just seemed a bit plodding. For me, it was one of those books which didn't hold my attention. If I put it down I wasn't driven to return to it.
It was good, but I just couldn't get into it and I cannot put my finger on why that is.

Great Story but the Narrator is Terrible
Reviewed: 06-28-24
This story is fun but it takes so much to get past the narrator. Her strange lilting, sing song voice places emphasis in the wrong areas of a sentence. It is so distracting!

I guess this just isn’t for me. The heroine is annoyingly petulant. The hero doesn’t seem to have any redeeming qualities even in his internal dialogue. I wish I hadn’t purchased this one.
