Story
Seven corpses are discovered in the streets of a Dragon’s fief. All identical, down to their clothing. Kaylin Neya is assigned to discover who they were, who killed them - and why. Is the evil lurking at the borders of Elantra preparing to cross over? At least the investigation delays her meeting with the Dragon Emperor. And as the shadows grow longer over the fiefs, Kaylin must use every skill she’s ever learned to save the people she’s sworn to protect. Sword in hand, dragons in the sky, this time there’s no retreat....

Story
The Earl of Wrexford possesses a brilliant scientific mind, but boredom and pride lead him to reckless behavior. He does not suffer fools gladly. So when pompous, pious Reverend Josiah Holworthy publicly condemns him for debauchery, Wrexford unsheathes his rapier-sharp wit and strikes back. As their war of words escalates, London's most popular satirical cartoonist, A. J. Quill, skewers them both.

Outstanding Reader!

In general, I don’t like mysteries where the villain confesses all, so I gave the story an average 3*. However, the Regency Period in London is very interesting to me & the reader is outstanding, so I’m gonna give Book #2 a listen.

Best Compendium by a Mile!
Reviewed: 03-19-25
I read the entire current The Demon Accords first, currently from Book #0.5 through #20, and absolutely loved it! Rating most of the books 5’s across the board.
Compendium #1 & #2, which I read after Book #20, were OK, like fine, nothing special, so a disappointment. Perhaps if Compendium #1 was read around Book #3 or #4, it might add some more value. But reading it after Book #20, it nearly lost its relevance completely.
Likewise on Compendium #2, though it might gain relevance by being somewhere around Books #8-10.
Compendium #3 read after Book #20, however, totally Rocked!!! All 6 or 7 stories were excellent, timely & relevant & added depth to events and/or characters. I highly recommend it!

Perla Wultz lives with her husband, Grant, and their precious daughter, Sophie, in a gated Pasadena community. Affluent, sociable, and accomplished, Perla plays the part of loving wife and mother to perfection. It seems an ideal life, if not for a decades-old crime that has become Perla’s dark and consuming secret obsession. Twenty-three years ago, Leewood Folcrum confessed to murdering two young girls during a birthday party. Though he’s been condemned to a life sentence, his crime is not forgotten.

It’s not the best Mr Chaney Series that I’ve read, but I’m 5 books into the Backyard Starship Series & I’m going to do Book #6. The combination of corny & snarky still puts me off & diminishes the overall fun adventures & the only significant character that I really like is Perry, the A.I. Combat Bot. Oh well, on to Distant Horizon.
