A new take on Vampires---tell me more

I am sitting here wishing Audible had book 2. Book 1 was intriguing, and having four different voices added to the narrative did not detract from it. If you are looking for something new in this genre, I'd highly recommend it.

Story
Adam Binder has lost what matters most to him. Having finally learned the true identity of the warlock preying on his family, what was supposed to be a final confrontation with the fiend instead became a trap that sent Adam’s beloved Vicente into the realm of the dead, where none living are meant to be. Bound by debt, oath, and love, Adam blazes his own trail into the underworld to get Vicente back, and to end the threat of the warlock once and for all. But the road to hell is paved with far more than good intentions.

When's the next book?
Reviewed: 07-04-23
My biggest criticism is that we need more detail/depth, and maybe length of the books. Of course, I love Steven King...and he tends to write this unwieldy lengthy beast of a novel... and I guess I'd like "More" story in the story. It is easy to follow along, and I think readers could handle a few more pages per book, with more fleshed-out lines on the side characters around Adam.
Overall, well done. I would highly recommend it, and started the first book on a "whim"... and now I am wondering what the heck the elves are doing, and tell me more about the races of the watch towers.

Story
The world outside has grown toxic, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. The remnants of humanity live underground in a single silo. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they want: They are allowed to go outside.

I really did enjoy listening to this book on audible. My interest first occurred when I started to watch the TV series on Amazon and have to say it wasn't disappointed listening to the book. I like how this author tells a story about control in a culture that loses it.... it's eerily scary comparison to where we're heading right now if we don't get our shit in the pile with climate change and the inability to get along on the top of the planet.

Story
Multiverse travel is finally possible, but there’s just one catch: No one can visit a world where their counterpart is still alive. Enter Cara, whose parallel selves happen to be exceptionally good at dying—from disease, turf wars, or vendettas they couldn’t outrun. Cara’s life has been cut short on 372 worlds in total. On this dystopian Earth, however, Cara has survived. Identified as an outlier and therefore a perfect candidate for multiverse travel, Cara is plucked from the dirt of the wastelands.

Important note: This is a summary of The Obesity Code by Jason Fung and is not the original book. In his important book, Dr. Fung takes aim at age-old myths about weight control and the "perfect diet". The result? An adaptable, sustainable plan where no foods are off-limits and no food groups are excluded while addressing larger underlying issues related to hormones, appetite, insulin resistance, and fat storage. This audiobook is not meant to replace the original book but to serve as a companion to it.

The style was easy to listen to from my drive to work. I love Stephen King but I have to say I am more into the older style of IT and the Stand or even the roller coaster ride which is the Gunslinger. It is always interesting to hear mention of the deadlights because those are in a couple of his books but we really don't know much about them or it. But I think it would be awesome if there were a book about what they were...that I would love to read....later.

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

This book turned out better than I thought it would. I found myself agreeing with a lot of the author sentiments by the time I got to the end. I was listening from the standpoint of trying not to take everything personally, and I think it gave me some ideas. A Read I definitely would recommend this to friends.

Story
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.
