Story
Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

I usually figure out the twists before they are revealed but there were definitely a few in this book that I didn’t see coming! It was an enjoyable read and I recommend it.

This book was everything
Reviewed: 10-27-24
I was afraid that at the end of this book my heart would break as it often does at the end of a story. That I will mourn the characters so much and be so lonely without them. However, this story was different. It was so thoroughly told, so well written, so moving, so heartbreaking and so joyous that it doesn’t feel like my friends are leaving me abruptly. The characters spent all their energy leaving me, as the reader, satisfied with my time with them in a way that doesn’t hurt, but that is at peace. I know them so well I am comforted by their strength and resilience and I will carry them with me into the rest of my days.

Every year, she invites her closest friends to escape the English weather and spend Easter on her idyllic private Greek island.

Crazy twist
Reviewed: 08-10-24
I thought this felt too much like the other two books he has written. It feels kind of like a trilogy, Greek Mythology woven into each story. While I enjoyed seeing characters from the other books, as I am fond of them now, it was maybe a little too much. I would still read it if I were you, it is a good story overall. I would read his next book too.

Simply great
Reviewed: 10-28-23
I really liked hearing things from Britney’s perspective, in her early days I wasn’t a fan, I was young and stubborn and didn’t want to like what everyone liked. I wanted to be different, but at 45 and hopefully wiser, I see artists for their music, for the heart they bring with it and not based on what anyone else thinks. I feel for Britney and what she has been through, I often feel trapped just by life, I really hate that the world doesn’t give me time off when I am mentally not up to it. I’m not trying to be funny…I seriously get it, as a huge star you would think that fame and money would give her freedom to live how she wants, and her not being beholden to other people’s demands. It did the opposite for her…and it’s sad. I am looking forward to seeing how she uses her freedom. I hope she finds what she is looking for. She can post naked pics, dance her heart out on Instagram, but she is living her truth…and that’s the freedom we all want.
