Story
Alice Scott is an eternal optimist still dreaming of her big writing break. Hayden Anderson is a Pulitzer-prize winning human thundercloud. And they’re both on balmy Little Crescent Island for the same reason: To write the biography of a woman no one has seen in years—or at least to meet with the octogenarian who claims to be the Margaret Ives. Tragic heiress, former tabloid princess, and daughter of one of the most storied (and scandalous) families of the 20th Century.

Don’t listen to some of the negative reviews and form your own opinion. I’m a huge Emily Henry fan and this was AMAZING!! If you’re expecting “rom com” this isn’t that. I loved the two stories in one. One of my new favorites for sure.

Narrators are not fit for the story!
Reviewed: 10-09-24
I’m sorry but I couldn’t stand the narrators. Did not fit the characters.
The female narrators voice for other people was like nails on a chalkboard. When she did just Julep it was fine but her voice for Gianna drove me NUTS.
The male voice wasn’t awful but not great.
Story was not Kandis best and very cringy. However, I LOVED the Blindside by her!

Story
Georgia Woodward lives by her lists, none more so than the one about her ex, Eli Mora. It’s full of the ironclad dos and don’ts they’ve been following since she returned to the Bay Area after their cataclysmic breakup five years ago. With the wedding of their mutual best friend, Adam, looming, and them about to step into their roles as best woman and man, Georgia’s never needed it more. She refuses to threaten their tight-knit friend group with her messy—and still very present—feelings. The rules on that list will keep her cool, calm, and compartmentalized.

Augustus Everett is an acclaimed author of literary fiction. January Andrews writes best-selling romance. When she pens a happily ever after, he kills off his entire cast. They’re polar opposites. In fact, the only thing they have in common is that for the next three months, they're living in neighboring beach houses, broke, and bogged down with writer's block.
