Story
If you’re struggling to stay on top of your to-do list, you probably have a good reason: anxiety, fatigue, depression, ADHD, or lack of support. For therapist KC Davis, the birth of her second child triggered a stress-mess cycle. The more behind she felt, the less motivated she was to start. She didn’t fold a single piece of laundry for seven months. One life-changing realization restored her sanity—and the functionality of her home: You don’t work for your home; your home works for you.

Feel better knowing I'm not alone

How to Keep House While Drowning gives the reader permission to step back from trying for perfection and be more real. KC Davis brings her own life into her story without making it about her, like I have read in so many other self help books. She really seems to want to help every day people forgive themselves for not having the perfect house or life, while also giving advice in cleaning and organization. If you have issues with your attention span, there is an abridged version. Definitely take the time to read/listen to this book.

Story
I don't mean to just blurt it out. "Why, yes, I'm engaged!" But once I say it to a potential client, there's only one logical thing to do - cast the role of my fake fiancé. Easy enough. As a casting director, my job is to find the most talented players for every part, so I choose dreamy, edgy, sexy, sarcastic Reeve. And I sign him up for one week in the role of mine. It's not as if I'll fall for him in five nights even if we get a little cozy one night at theater. It's not as if I'll want more even after a scorching afternoon in the stacks of the New York Public Library.

Good Story with the perfect Narration
Reviewed: 01-23-22
I enjoyed this story from start to finish. Sutton annoyed me with her constant need to pull away, but that's a sign of a good story. When an author can make you feel for the characters in any way. Of course, it helps having great voices to go with the story which these two provide. I listened to this story straight through.

Story
Jamie Cook is a work-in-progress. He’s always wanted what his parents have: a good marriage, lots of kids, and financial security. He thought he’d have the first two with his ex-girlfriend while the third would come once he got his house-flipping business off the ground. When his ex doesn’t subscribe to his five-year plan, he makes Cook Brothers Construction his sole focus. Then he moves next door to April Williams, a sassy single mom he can’t stop riling up, and her matchmaking mother-in-law has set her sights on Jamie being April’s knight in a leather tool belt.

I read this book and then decided to get it on audible as well...mistake. The male narration fell flat for me. He had no emotion. I couldn't get through his first chapter. I like the story though.

Unnecessary trilogy but good story overall
Reviewed: 12-18-21
I liked the first book, but was disappointed that it continued with two more books. By the end of second book I was ready for an end to this story. Another of unnecessary drama. If you like having characters stories dragged out over a book series, definitely give these books a listen or read. If you like standalone stories you might want to skip through many of these chapters from each book. Overall, the writing is good and the narrators were perfect. Christian Fox has the series bedroom voice and I recommend listening to any of the audibooks he narrates.

Good Story that ends on cliffhanger
Reviewed: 12-04-21
Don't, I repeat, Don't read this unless you are prepared to read 3 books to get to the end of Seala and Becks story. This book ends in a cliffhanger, so does the second book, so make sure you are prepared to read all 3 books. It is a good story and it is narrated well. Christian Fox is a God send for audible books. Just sayin.

Sarai was only fourteen when her mother uprooted her to live in Mexico with a notorious drug lord. Over time she forgot what it was like to live a normal life, but she never let go of her hope to escape the compound where she has been held for the past nine years. Victor is a cold-blooded assassin who, like Sarai, has known only death and violence since he was a young boy. When Victor arrives at the compound to collect details and payment for a hit, Sarai sees him as her only opportunity for escape.

Good story, but male voice not right
Reviewed: 11-13-21
I love this book and decided to listen to the audiobook. Kate Reindeer was a good choice for Sarrai, but Stephen Bel Davies was not a good choice for victor. I couldn't stand listening to Victor's chapters. Although, Davies delivered the lines well, his voice was not right for Victor. He sounded gay and like maybe he should be a friend or Niklaus maybe. I couldn't finish this. This is, of course, not Davies fault, the person who hired him for this is at fault.

I don't believe in fairy tales and Prince Charming. I believe in fear. He taught me how to be afraid. We first met on a playground on a wonderful summer day. It was the first time he hurt me and it wouldn't be the last. For 10 years, he's been my tormentor and I've been his forbidden. But then he went away, and yet I was still afraid. Now, he's back, and wants more than just my tears. You see...he thinks I sent him away so now he wants revenge...and he knows just how to get it.

Trigger Warning- Rape story
Reviewed: 10-23-21
If you are triggered by rape scenes, please do not read this. I do not recommend for young mind either. This glorifies rape. No matter if the female lead fell for this guy, it is misguided and I hope none of you ladies buy into it. It is not ok for someone to torment another person like this. I kept wishing the female lead wouldn't end up with him. I gave the performance five stars because she did a great job with what she was provided.
