Typical romance novel. It’s not too bad, I enjoyed it. Except ! *spoiler* the way the guys parents die, is the exact same way Batman’s parents died, right down to the pearls. No very original.

Story
Some days, he's my worst enemy. Other days he's my best friend. Every day, of course, Adam Maxwell is my cocky prick of a boss, and for the past five years, we've been the official power duo at Engelman Sports, closing multi-million dollar contracts like LA's most well-oiled machine. Honestly, we thrive on the daily love-hate. I call out his womanizing. He rags on my "needy" fiance. And we carry right on. Because through thick and thin, our work dynamic has always stayed rock-solid. Fine-tuned to the kind of perfection you couldn't break if you tried.

First half
Reviewed: 05-24-24
I thought the first half of this was excellent. But the second half just took a nose dive. No more whittyness between the two. Just redundant sex scenes and a romance cookie cutter storyline. But it’s in the catalog so if you don’t like it, you don’t loose a credit.

Was ok
Reviewed: 05-16-24
This wasn’t as good as some other Myron books. Decent story line, but I thought it was predictable. Definitely didn’t have that usual shock spin. I also didn’t like Win character development. Over all I would still suggest it, especially for Coban fans. Quick read.

While the reader can probably figure out “ who done it” mid book, this book is still amazing. Slaughter is one of the most talented writers.

This is mostly just about a women getting verbally, sexually and physically abused. A lot of inner monologue. This reminded me a lot of a Colleen Hoover book, but not nearly as good. I wouldn’t recommend it.

My darling little boy Albie adores playing at our new neighbours’ house. And after the terrible year we’ve had, I feel so lucky that we can start over in this perfect place, with new friends who treat Albie like the son they never had. He can’t stop talking about the tree house they’re building him, and the cookies they bake together. But as time passes, something starts to feel wrong. Why don’t they ever open the front door more than a crack? They told me they had no children so who does the small pink tricycle I saw in their hall belong to?
