Story
The campaign of destruction that Axel Soledad and Dallas Cates wreaked on Nate Romanowski and Joe Pickett left both men in tatters, especially Nate, who lost almost everything. Wondering if the civilized life left him vulnerable to attack, Nate dropped off the grid with his falcons in tow to prepare for vengeance. When Joe gets a call from the governor asking for help finding his son-in-law, who has gone missing in the Sierra Madre mountain range, he enlists the help of a local, a rookie game warden named Susan Kany.

Bad and Sad
Reviewed: 01-19-25
I have been a long time fan of Alice Feeney, but… this story which started well, turned into a test for the reader to discern what is real and what isn’t what isn’t. The ending was absurd. Narration was equally poor. The male narrator drone on and on in a melancholy tone. The female narration, however, was good. Overall, I did finish the book, but was very disappointed.

The narrator, George Newbern, is always excellent and without fail I always enjoy Michael Staggs audiobooks. The characters are well developed, but not complicated and the plot is never obvious.

This is a cozy mystery about female twins in their 30s who move from a big US city to a quaint small town in Ireland. This town is so small that everyone knows each other’s business. They moved to Ireland to start over because of a broken relationship. Shortly after they arrive one of their neighbors dies (perhaps murdered?). One of the sisters is a mystery writer and is determined to determine the cause of her neighbors death.
The narration is excellent… actually could not be better.
The Story is a wee bit long. However, it is “cozy” and holds your interest.

If I don’t get hooked on a story within the first hour or two, I drop it and showed it finished. I became immediately involved in the lies. I tell and found it difficult to put down. As the story unraveled, it was like an onion, uncovering layers upon layers.
Needless to say it was an excellent read ((listen).
